Chainsaw Man - thoughts, overreactions, etc.
I won't do too much clean-up of my points here, I just needed to get them out before they ate me up.

Chainsaw Man thought dump: Season 1

Both in the manga and in the anime, I have a lot of pity for Denji as a person for the amount of exploitation and abuse he goes, for many - without even realizing. And even when the reality of it strikes him in the face, he still tries to believe in a good outcome due to his naive nature and that kills me. I also love how in the beginning Pochita had mirrored all the love he had given her back to him - I wish she had stayed with him beyond just giving him her heart, it feels like he really doesn't have anyone to rely on for now - Aki is sane ish, but for how long?

"How could she be any less than (good)" is how Aki speaks of Makima, so even he isn't enough of a reality check for the boy. Moving towards Adult and Child dynamics in this anime, the way those two boys are preyed upon by grown women, yet their lives are clearly shaped by them and they hold a lot of sentimental value to the memories they've made with them.. LOUD. SIGH. It is complicated. And sad to see them being 'saved' by Makima only to pay the consequences of their trust through their brains and bodies being used as tools

The way people die all over the place in this series will never stop to amuse me - it reminds me how in JJK a lot of people got surprised how, nearing the end, a lot of the kids developed an interesting reaction to their colleagues dying, but it is sort of realistic - it comes with the job to die. Your faves will die, and your other faves will either be numb, have panic attacks over it, or go through a morality episode like Denji when he had realized he didn't shed a tear over Himeno.I also like their 'restrained' friendships with each other, because some of the hunters have had enough of losing people dear to them, so they'd rather not form bonds at all.

For the last arc of the anime, I liked how the opposite was shown, too, for the antagonists - guy slashed through his own coworker just to get to Denji.. Wow. Another moment that really struck me in here was when one of the men had heard a raven, got freaked out from a sense of impending doom, only to get crushed like a soda can by Makima. That was a very unsettling way to show off her power, which also matches how unsettling She is, herself.

One more - Denji and his hypersexuality. A lot of the way he acts, and the sexual violence done to him makes me squirm in my seat. For the first, because his hypersexuality is both a result of these traumas and something that's been encouraged and made worse by the adults around him. When Denji acts out inappropriately, alongside cringing, I feel a whole lot of pity for him. What I see from other people is either mislabeling him as a total creep ...or celebrating that he pulled 2 adult women x_x Now he's a pixel and you can do what you want, but sometimes people really have a shallow view of characters and their stories, the meme-fication of Denjis hypersexuality being one example that doesn't sit right with me.

And for last - the heading screenshot. Aki reaching for a cigarette over some food while in hospital stay really struck me as a visual. The breakdown he had after having a flashback of her offering him a lighter. More on the cigarettes - Himenos devil stopping mid-fight just to hand him a cigarette very much reminded me of Geto-Choking-Kenjaku moment, that lives rent free in my brain.

Chainsaw Man thought dump: Reze Movie

The pool scene, with the spider and the butterfly - that imagery struck me. So did the moment right before Reze bit off Denjis tongue.

There is a lot of a sense of naivety or vulnerability/restraint in this movie, it feels like. Aki restrains himself from telling others of his lifespan, but is also expressive about his vulnerability towards how sick he is of seeing everyone die around him. Despite hating devils, or claiming to, he saved Angel. Despite knowing to not be attached, he risked his life before, trying to prevent a close ones death despite the consequences eating away at his own lifespan.

Angel calls himself an uncaring person that thinks people deserve to suffer in their last moments. Despite this, he is shown to be uncomfortable before telling Aki that he now has two months left to live. Despite his claims, he comforts a dying woman and tells her to not be afraid, that she will go to heaven. And he rids her of her misery, rather than let her die out slowly and painfully. And, when it comes to killing Reze, he leaves Aki behind to do it alone, rather than string him along.

Reze claims to have never cared or liked Denji - I considered a lot of this to be true still, but also believed that she at least held a bittersweet opinion of him. So when by the end, she sprinted towards the cafe only to be stopped by Makima, to reminisce on the fact that she never got to be a child, go to school, and view herself - or be viewed at as anything but a tool since a very, very young age just like Denji.. To die wondering why she hadn't killed him the first day of their meeting... Good lord.

Denji is a little different to this, and I've mentioned it before - when reality hits him, he still chooses to believe in good things. When Reze tells him she never cared for him and is about to run away, he begs her to run away with him, or opposite - to stay. He promises to wait for her at the cafe and he does, while Reze bleeds out not too far from the door, to which Denji will stay unaware for.. How long? Until Makima tells him about it? Or until the day he dies?

Great animation, great characters, cried much, great soundtrack 10/10

Verdict: 10/10 Cried for both

Hello. My head hurts. This is me telling you to read Fate Shift by No1RyomaFan and why, with some light spoilers

What is Fate Shift?

Fate shift is a Getter Robo Armageddon fanfiction of an Alternative Universe style that takes a "what if" scenario, specifically with 'What if the explosion never happened?' It's an exploration of events that could unfold after episode 3 with this new premise. It also delves REALLY DEEP into some good Hayato/Ryoma ship fuel/character study mismashed together in a very good soup

Grief

The first thing this fic really opened up in terms of Ryomas character is how overriden with grief he is. W/o spoilers, he goes through a cycle of thoughts that follow the line of "I should have done this, if I were to XYZ, none of this would have happened" which is SO YUMMY to dissect because it's coming from this repressed man that won't get help for a while.

Emotions? In my toxic masculinity?

Ryoma cries in this. He panics, he snaps and lashes out, yells, sobs, feels white-hot fear overtake his body, grows feverish and sweats a river when experiencing a stressful situation/being overcome with flashbacks, while in the OG that would be a rare sight. I personally like seeing some emotion on a main character of an anime rather than aurafarming or being stone cold all the time.
The way his panic attacks were described is also such a chefs kiss moment because it really does show how suffocating it would be in his situation - and he's a human after all, so of course both his mind and body would panic from experiencing and remembering gruesome events. A tiny bit of this is included in Hayatos character too, because he has his moments where he will literally shake from fear/panic and that is also just so..Great To See. Less "shocked face and nothing else", more "shaking from panic because the situation IS panic inducing"

Which reminds me to mention

His relationship to Hayato

First, getting used to the word 'friend' when used in regards to Hayato again, though obviously there are still hints of distrust in there and that "discomfort in comfort" feeling mentioned throughout. There's a very slight loose similarity I see in their conversations & HanniGrahams, unironically. Hayato is very motherly. And yet also at the same time just So Closed Off that Ryoma spends a long time not knowing what he thinks, feels, or even intends with him. Bickering with him = him arguing semantics and ragebaiting you. It's lovely. I really liked how the layers slooowly got peeled off until Ryoma had finally seen his "heart" so to say. And trust me the payoff for that slow burn is so worth it

Suicidality

Ryomas horrid passive and at times active suicidality in this work as well is something that just made me sit down and think really hard. Obviously it's driven by his grief but it also feels like many other points and stressors in his life could add on to the wish to never exist. Not many are made to handle the kind of stress he went through, if at all, and he's reacting in the only way he knows how to. 💔 There is a very beautiful way that he overcomes this in his work that I think many people would enjoy reading through

Side tangents:

His relationship to Go in here moved around in such an interesting way. There's a steady progression from foe to friend, and even an interesting twist in Gos character when it comes to his association with Michiru, and trying to interpret Gos own feelings or thoughts towards her was also really rewarding <_< +++Doubly loved that Gos personality were kept how it were in the original ❤️

There is one - well okay, Many nightmarish scenarios, but one that was specifically a set of hallucinations that you could really feel the dread from. It's stuck in my head and I dunno if I will forget it yet. It felt like "evil sleep paralysis stuff but with friendship is magic music at the end"

Also also: the fight sequences. I haven't read that many works that involve active combat, but the way it is written here is very yummy and understandable - what goes where, who punched who, etc. AND! At times those sequences are also written as a sort of dance which was really fun to imagine while reading

Hayato in here feels like a very much independent person to the point of not really letting others worry or care for him. It's not a Main Point, but something I felt like was worth noting

I laughed, cried, pouted, got angry, got happy, gayed out, straightened in, etc.

Also, many people have said that FS!Ryoma has become canon!Ryoma in their eyes. Do with that what you will

Rene and Cain

CW: Cults, queer/neuro-misia and flashing colors in video

A story that I mostly enjoy showing through animation(see WIP above) but also am actively writing, is Arborescence/Tree yaoi. It is centered on two characters: Rene, and Cain. Some kind of horror-elements included

They are the same age since they are twins, though Cain has A LOT more health issues than Rene, and they look rather different from each other..Rene would be the main guy shown in the animatic. They were both raised in a cult, though only Rene had left it to go study in the city. He didn't really realize they were in a cult and wouldn't for a while, family was just lax about letting him out of their reach, so long they still had psychological power over him - which they do. With Cain it's kind of more strict. So when Rene decided to leave, it weighed on the both of them really hard.

Ok and then what happened???

About two or three years after leaving, he was still keeping contact with Cain via text, and one day he got a real worrying message from him, the kind that would imply he was in grave danger. So he ran home to see if he was alright, only for Cain to be missing. Family says one thing, Cains best friend says another ("he argued with your dad and then said he would go to some concert"), then he finds out Cain is gay through snooping into his brothers phone - all that together resulted in Rene figuring that the guy really did sneak out, so he spent that day just waiting for Cain to get home and worrying like crazy. He worried that their parents could have kicked him out if they, too, found out about his sexuality. He's in general meant to come off as really neurotic, so a lot of his valid fear bleeds into over the top paranoia, which then leads to Rene denying himself the ability to consider his worries as valid enough. So that's a thing.

Anyway. That same night, an argument with his mother causes him to take a mental health TM walk to calm his nerves, though, and as he got deeper in the forest, he was getting calls from mom, begging him to come back home and alluding to some danger. Rene scoffed at that but then, he suddenly realized that something was following him.... DASH!!!!!!! cut to black, cliffhanger, etc.

I'll probably write in more once I've actually published what happens next :P

OC Talk: Nicolai and Blanche!

Once upon a time, I was sleeping, and I dreamt of this scene where double spies were on a secret mission. One of them looked just like Sam from Totally Spies. The other was just a guy. The Sam look-alike fell from somewhere and Guy grabbed them by the waist like a girl while holding onto a rope..I think. Anyway, turns out Sam look-alike was a boy. I've had those OCs for.. definitely more than five years, and they have not been explored as deeply as I'd like to because I am simply too lazy to worldbuild All Things Spies. That aside, though, I did develop a lot of love for their dynamic and personal lives. Which I think will be very obvious from the way I talk about them. Here go basic infos:

Nicolai Dobrinic 🇧🇾 35 / Fashionista apparently, I don't know enough fashion stuff to show that right. He's chatty, friendly, and smiles with his teeth, but it's not likely to get to know the real him. Picks on his eyebrows - prefers to have them drawn in cuz of dat. Daddy issues majora. Has narcissistic personality disorder. He's not likely to get vulnerable easy. Joined Big Spy Job to follow the steps of a guy that groomed him. He's trans, btw

"Blanche" (?)🇫🇷 41 yo / Orthodox christian. Really likes to read, and other hobbies that include quiet time and less socializing. Doesn't like loud noises. Obsessive-Compulsive traits. Doesn't talk much and just buries himself in work.. Intersex, has 5 alpha reductase deficiency. He's suffered a lot because of the latter and joined Big Spy Job to both get himself financial freedom and forge his identity to hide from abuser. If I remember correct, he's meant to be originally Romanian. The name Florin speaks to me when thinking of him but that is likely to change.

Does Vergil is Mentally Ill?

I hope nobody needs the disclaimer that this is babys second character essay so don't stone it please

Hello and welcome to me rambling the fuck out about my headcanons.. Spoilers for DMC all media below!

Disclaimer: none of those things are meant to be me stereotyping. Nobody is a monolith ETC, I'm just interested in picking up different traits from Vergil. Another disclaimer: This one will probably be a tad shorter OR edited around than the one about Utsuro because energy levels

Now let's go to the HCS.

Canon-Reliant Headcanons

I think Vergil has:

1. Other specified Dissociative Disorder OR Dissociative Identity Disorder
Symptoms (bolded=experiences it, italics=sort of experiences it)

D.I.D symptoms:

Inability to recall large memories of childhood;
Lack of awareness of recent events, and if they do remember, inability to explain them, for example not being able to explain how the patient got somewhere, or how the acquired a possession;
“lost time,” or frequent memory loss;
Flashbacks or sudden return of memories;
Feelings of disconnection or detachment from body or thoughts;
Hallucinations or voices;
So called “out of body ” experiences;
Self-harm or suicidal thoughts;;
Changes in handwriting;
Functional changes: from nearly disabled to highly functioning
Less commonly observed manifestations observed in patients with DID:
Mood swings or depression;
Anxiety, nervousness, panic attacks or phobias;
Eating and food issues;
Unexplained sleep disorders;
Headaches or general body pain;
Sexual issues, sex addiction or sexual avoidance (AAMFT, 2014).

Defense of HC:

As far as I am aware, D.I.D. is caused by childhood trauma, at most. Vergil had severe childhood trauma, and the way he dealt with it (splitting himself from man and demon), added in with 'Nightmares',or Beings V had to reconcile with in order to fuse with Vergil (Evil Dante, Nelo Angelo, Withered Vergil, Little Vergil), felt like a D.I.D. allegory
One thing is, though, I do not think that V, Urizen, or Vergil - or other alters have memories only assigned to them, as in there's no amnesia. Without amnesia, AFAIK, you can still be diagnosed to have D.I.D, though it is more common to be diagnosed with OSDD than not, but that's my only note
Additionally: Fusion isn't everyones final decision but it seems to have helped him heal.

OSDD symptoms:

1. Chronic and recurrent syndromes of mixed dissociative symptoms. This category includes identity disturbance associated with less than marked discontinuities in sense of self and agency, or alterations of identity or episodes of possession in an individual who reports no dissociative amnesia.
2. Identity disturbance due to prolonged and intense coercive persuasion: Individuals who have been subjected to intense coercive persuasion (e.g., brainwashing, thought reform, indoctrination while captive, torture, long-term political imprisonment, recruitment by sects/cults or by terror organizations) may present with prolonged changes in, or conscious questions of, their identity.
3. Acute dissociative reactions to stressful events: This category is for acute, transient conditions that typically last less than 1 month, and sometimes only a few hours or days. These conditions are characterized by constriction of consciousness; depersonalization; derealization; perceptual disturbances (e.g., time slowing, macropsia); micro-amnesias; transient stupor; and/or alterations in sensory-motor functioning (e.g., analgesia, paralysis).
4. Dissociative trance: This condition is characterized by an acute narrowing or complete loss of awareness of immediate surroundings that manifest as profound unresponsiveness or insensitivity to environmental stimuli. May be accompanied by minor stereotyped behaviors of which the individual is unaware and/or that he or she cannot control, as well as transient paralysis or loss of consciousness. The dissociative trance is not a normal part of a broadly accepted collective cultural or religious practice.

Defense of HC:

Examples of these, if not all, can be seen in the VOV manga, if not in general lore. 2, from Munduses' entrapment, 3, that one set of panels where an Angelo caused him to have a flashback and regress to Little Vergil when Nero stood up to defend him, 4, I would say that would be the whole mission of defeating Nightmares both in-game and in the manga. For 1, I would not say that Vergil was shown to have repeated dissociative symptoms, as we have not seen enough of his private life to begin with. We have entire gaps in what his life were in-between the games NGL.
And again, memories are shared, so I lean towards this HC more, maybe..

Sub-headcanons:
Alongside D.I.D., I think DP/DR and CPTSD would go hand in hand with it. CPTSD because he had multiple traumatizing events in life - Mundus, Mundus again, multiple near death experiences, etc.

2. Autistic

I am a little more able to word myself well when defending D.I.D. as a headcanon, however when it comes to Autistic headcanons, I fear coming off as a bit stereotype-y, so I want to warn here that I do not think "being rude/not liking to talk a lot/etc=autism" or that autism = evil disorder.
I will share the criterions, and why I consider him to fit them. I will try to word myself well.

criterion A: persistent deficits in reciprocal social communication and social interaction
criterion B: restricted, repetitive patterns of behaviour, interests or activities
criterion C: symptoms must be present in the early developmental period
criterion D: symptoms cause clinically significant impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning
criterion E: these disturbances are not better explained by intellectual disability or global developmental delay.

There have been mentions of Vergil hating crowds and loud places, interactions he has with others are short and he can come off as cold or disinterested, speaking only when necessary. Now, all this is something everyone can do, and "coming off as mean" is in no way an Autism trait, however I am looking at all those things together as him having specific sensory and social-cue related needs that do not fit to being in crowds with lots of people (overwhelming) or having to interact with someone outside his immediate family (confusing, lotsa socializing and cues to miss)

I think, as a repetitive interest of his, that would be quest for power (trauma based, too) and sparring with Dante, so I would lean onto the second one as being his special interest, which he has been engaging in since he were a child! Poetry too, maybe, though that seems to be a repressed spin, re-awakened by V. I would have to have another look-over at his timeline to see if I'm correct, tho.

While we haven't seen a bigger example of this yet, or I don't remember it, in PXZ2 and PGR there are two instances in which the way Vergil interacts with people causes them to misinterpret him or in general see him as antagonistic. In both these cases it seems that he does not bother to clear up the problem, which, headcanon aside, is such a Vergil thing to do, LOL. He does not GAF about irrelevant things

I think, while being isolated for so long, anybody could have a delay in doing adulting, people-ing, or existing in general, but I still prefer to look at this through the perspective of an Autism HC, please and thank you

Mid-Canon based territory
3. ASPD
Disclaimer: In this house we do not stigmatize people with personality disorders. We all heart you, people of all clusters. OK let's go

A. Disregard for and violation of others rights since age 15, as indicated by one of the seven sub features:

Failure to obey laws and norms by engaging in behavior which results in criminal arrest, or would warrant criminal arrest
Lying, deception, and manipulation, for profit or self-amusement,
Impulsive behavior
Irritability and aggression, manifested as frequently assaults others, or engages in fighting
Blatantly disregards safety of self and others,
A pattern of irresponsibility and
Lack of remorse for actions (American Psychiatric Association, 2013)

The other diagnostic Criterion are:

B. The person is at least age 18,

C. Conduct disorder was present by history before age 15

D. and the antisocial behavior does not occur in the context of schizophrenia or bipolar disorder (American Psychiatric Association, 2013)

First things first, ASPD is no mood or empathy disorder - it is a behavior disorder caused by severe trauma. Which takes me right to the defense-of-hc part: Vergil had severe trauma. In games and novels, we can see a collection of 1&2 together in his interactions with Arkham(dmc3) and Sanctus(novel), where he will see some people as pawns to use for his goals, or straight up walk into someones bed chambers like nothing just because he wants to get something from them.

His self esteem and goals are (or were if we consider his PGR character arc, but let's keep it in pre-pgr state for now) based around himself, his personal gain, or power. Get it get

Impulsive behavior, I would say he does not have much of that anymore, but in younger years definitely. I would not say that he is easily enraged either, or prone to fights. Maybe, some of that could have happened while he was busy surviving and hiding ages 8-18(before events of DMC3), but we do not know. One small example of him being easy to anger would be frequent fights with Dante, but that would be more being predisposed to anger than having that happen due to trauma, since I'm talking about the V.O.V. flashback scene <_<

Though! he does disregard others' feelings or safety, and does not care for consequences of his action/inactions. Some of this can be seen challenged by V in VoV when he decided to save the child who was crying for his mommy (ough little Vergil type character)
B. He is indeed in his forties C. He could, but we don't know (^see above) D. Nope >:)

TOTAL HEADCANON TERRITORY

4. PICA/ARFID Combination
Symptoms:
PICA

Persistent eating of non-nutritive, nonfood substances for a period of at least one month.
The eating of nonnutritive, nonfood substances is inappropriate to the developmental level of the individual.
The eating behavior is not part of a culturally supported or socially normative practice.
If occurring with another mental disorder, or during a medical condition, it is severe enough to warrant independent clinical attention.

ARFID

Criterion A demonstrates an eating or feeding disturbance associated with at least one of the following: significant weight loss, significant nutritional deficiency, dependence on enteral feeding or oral supplements such as a nutritional formula, and a marked change in psychosocial functioning. In this case, a feeding disturbance could be due to the following reasons:
- Low appetite and disinterest in food
- Avoidance of foods or narrow selection of foods related to sensory issues (e.g. related to smell, taste, texture)
- Avoidance or restrictive eating related to fear of consequences (such as choking, vomiting, and nausea).
Criterion B demonstrates that the interference with eating is not related to religious or cultural practices or lack of availability of food.
Criterion C demonstrates that the feeding disturbance is not due to another eating disorder such as anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa, evidenced by lack of body image issues or preoccupation with body weight.
Criterion D demonstrates that the feeding disturbance is not due to another psychiatric or medical condition (for example, gastrointestinal disease or malignancy) that may better explain the symptoms.(1, 17)

Some canon notes, which also reject the headcanon:

Vergil hasn't had proper human food since the age of 16 or 18, and even earlier would probably go through severe malnurition after running away from home, thanks Mundus. And his palate or appetite has to have been messed with severely, which probably got worsened by having to live a long time in the demon world with nothing but their meat or fluids to have, too.
We see V engaging in eating demon meat for nourishment, though he also eats a burger afterwards, no problem.. So, loose standing in the hc..
In PGR he considers strawberry sundae too sweet, even though he loved sweets as a child. Hey! Hey! His palate got fucked with! Or he just grew up. But if we put it in context, it's definitely both

Why do I think this could happen to him anyway?

Cuz I'm built different.
Because he would have gone a long time viewing food as something that, at first, is something to wait for and store away in pieces, (inner-headcanon: maybe even something to deserve?! he still would hate himself for moms death.) (earlier years), then something that tastes disgusting but he needs lots of to survive (later years)
Due to this, I think he would fall back on the habit of eating unsavory things/inedibles, or go the opposite way and avoid food as much as possible altogether. But this is just a theory, a what if theory :P

The Shadowy Female suddenly jumps out of Orcs chest and talks to Enitharmon, seems to be in grief over her relationship with Orc over there. She also seems really existential

Enitharmon:
Although symbolising spiritual beauty and poetic inspiration (some critics have argued that Blake’s wife Catherine was the inspiration for the character) she is also used by Blake to represent female domination and sexual restraints that limit the artistic imagination. The bulk of Europe a Prophecy is devoted to Enitharmon’s domination of the material world and puts forward various sexual rules through religion which Blake describes as errors found in orthodox Christianity.
The name ‘Enitharmon’ could be a derivation of (z)enit(h)-harmon(y). It has also been suggested that the Greek anarithmon or ‘numberless’ is another possible starting point for the name. (src)

Prophecy
So this is where Enitha talks to her kids, one of them being Orc. Uris and Los's children are here too, Uris children are envious of Losses, lol. She calls upon Rintrah, who rages against oppression, and Palamabron, who sympathises with the oppressed, to go lead humans into dealing with the deception of suppressing women and their sexuality. Then Ellynitria(Palamabrons Emanation) and Ocalythron are called too - she also mentions prince of the sun which is meant to be Urizens title but taken by Rintrah instead. As in Urizen. I'm just petnaming those characters.

Then Enitharmon wakes and calls upon Ethinthus, Manathu-Vorcyon, Leutha, Antamon, Sotha and Thrilatha. Menthions Oothoon and Theotormon too. Not realizing what kind of shit she stirred,v Orcs rejection she looked over at Orcs behavior and started crying.

Ethinthus is the body, Manathu-Vorcyon is sexual desire. However when in the body the feminine guilt rises, then Antamon, the male seed, has to relate to guilt. That becomes Theotormon, frustrated desire (and) relating to Oothoon, frustrated desire, that becomes masculine Sotha, war, relating to Thiralatha, or Thiralata, neurotic daydream. So instead of a balance between body and sexual desire, the body becomes war and sexual desire becomes masturbation or daydream. So some of that cycle is outlined in what comes up when Enitharmon calls forth her children of illusion. (Src)

Mentions of Har and Heva - Aged Adam and Eve. Their forms shrink, and Los with Enitharmon give law and religion to the sons of Har, binding them to the five senses. Urizen weeps at this LOL and hands over the philosophy of those senses to Newthon and Locke.

In which Los urges revolution and snarks at the kings surprised by the apocalypse that maybe they themselves created, following the chaos in Europe

Urizen flies from Europe to Judea, roused by them. Meanwhile Orcs fire triumphs and the Apocalypse begins to manifest .. cringe of fear

The Book of Urizen

Urizen declares himself god and falls. The angels send Los to look over him, while Urizen is out there throwing around globes and doing crazy shit. Los goes, I can fix him and starts chaining/hammering his form into something else.

Wiki explains this better than me: Los forges a human image for Urizen in the course of seven ages but pities him and weeps. From these tears Enitharmon is created, a symbol of pity, who soon bears the child of Los, Orc. Orc's infant cries awaken Urizen, who begins to survey and measure the world he has created. Urizen explores his world and witnesses the birth of his four sons, who represent the four classical elements. From these experiences Urizen's hopes are crushed

Then: Urizen, horrified by his own world, curses. His tears of pity form a Net of Religion, embryo of The Female Will.

The Book of Ahania

Fuzon, rebelling against Urizen, attacks him and declares himself God, like father like son. Urizen by accident creates the tree of mystery, to which Fuzon gaets nailed to..

Wiki explains it best again - Ahania was originally part of until her son, Fuzon, rebelled against Urizen and cut apart his loins. This established her as a separate entity, and Urizen named her Sin. The work ends with Fuzon's death by the hands of Urizen. She is a representation of pleasure and desire for knowledge.

The Book of Los

In the beginning we have Eno and Leutha. Eno laments about the past.\, of the four prime sins (covet, envy, wrath, wantonness) entering the world thru a failure of the imagination ..
Eno - like Enion in The Four Zoas, the mother of generative existence. Now guides the chariot of Leutha

Then we have the retelling from Los's POV, what happened between him and Uri. He can't handle his role and destroys urizens world. He falls into the abyss and divides time and space - which he previously used to constrain Urizen. Either way he is now barred from the other angels/higher beings, develops a human form.

He creates Polypus, a life without demarcations. He bends Urizen into a human form, too, and creates the fallen world. With the dead sun, with the four rivers of Eden, four fallen senses.

Milton, book 1

Preface is a critique/distinction between classics and the bible. Plus there is the And did those feet in ancient times poem

Book 1
Plate 2:, first there is an invocation to the muses, daughters of Beulah. Blake asks of them to aid him like muses, but due to the tricky ability of the daughters to cause delusions or lead astray, he words his request in a very specific way, to not go away from his idea pretty much. The false tongue oof Tharmas is mentioned, who is fallen and an accuser of sin. This invocation ends with talking about Jesus

Then there is a discussion of three classes of men: the Reprobate, the Redeemed, and the Elect. The Redeemed are a battleground on which Reprobate and Elect meet, for the Redeemed can be won to either class.
Plate 3 re-tells about Uri, Los, etc. Los birthes Satan,(jealousy?) later Urizen. I'm gonna use Harold Blooms explanations cuz i'm hungry as hell and need it concise:

New info!~ Rintrah is now the Reprobate prophet, Palamabron the Redeemed poet, and Satan the Elect accuser. All four are kids f Los and Enitharmon, of the mental forms conditioning fallen reality.

Satan is “the Miller of Eternity” because his mills of reductive intellect attempt to grind down creation, and destroy the minute particulars that constitute the human. By being incarnated, Satan takes on definite form, and so error is consolidated for a casting-out in the Apocalypse, though Satan resists, “Refusing Form in vain”.

Plate 4: The zodiac of Urizen as sky god becomes the plow of the Reprobate prophet Rintrah. Palamabron takes the harrrow of divine purpose. There are mills of satan mentioned again. Plus the Mundane Shell, as a stay against the chaos by Fallen Tharmas.

Also the three classes of fallen makind are mentioned taking their nature - three, because they lack Tharmas and his realm of Innocence.

Papa is mean to Satan, tellling him to go fuck off and work at the mills for you are not allowed to work over the Harrow of Shaddai (Palamabrons work)

At the end soldiers are mentioned which I don't really get 1:1.

Plate 5:
Palamabron returns in the morning with the fiery harrow, Satan faints beneath the artillery of the harrow of poetry.
Then we have daughters of Albion as the icons of deceptively beautiful women that Milton and all men have to overcome the temptations of. Their heavens take a more Satanic effect. Then we see a cyclical re-creation which argues that the Elect can only be saved by being created continually, meanwhile the other two classes can be redeemed just fine. The daughters pity the fall of man and their aspiration to raise above the Udanadan, lake of sorrow, but in a sadistic sense
then we have a reference of the classes within real life people, a reference i dont really wanna keep a note of

Plate 6: This just discusses Losses' triumph over history and how it shaped the classes of men, basically the result of Satan getting overpowered.

Shortly, 6:34-35:

The Web of Life is woven: & the tender sinews of life created
And the Three Classes of Men regulated by Los’s hammer.

Plate 7-8: Satan seemed sad seeing Palamabron come back home all tired and exhausted, so "with most endearing love" he asked los to let him take over. For a day, he was allowed the Harrow of Almighty(epic poetry). Palamabron let it happen, afraid of an argument or accusation of ingratitude from his brother.
However, then he finds his horses and servants enraged/in distress, and blames Satan, who on the other hand, in his reality denies doing so.

The same happened at the Mill Palamabron worked on. Servants were drunk, singing his songs, and Los immediately went into mourning, with Rintrah and Enitharmon by his side. He grieves for pity divides man and thats bad because thats Palamabrons thing. Pity of the oppressed.

Satan gets chided by a bunch of people, we got a Michael mention here, plus Thulloh, who is a friend of both Pala and Satan. He reproves Satan and gets slayed by, I THINK, Rintrahs rage, because their viewpoints are different fuck if I know. Los and Enitharmon weep per usual.

Note, Thulloh may be a reference to Leviathan
Then, this I don't get yet, is it maybe about Palamabrons fear of being accused of wrongdoing?

But Palamabron called down a Great Solemn Assembly,
That he who will not defend Truth, may be compelled to
Defend a Lie, that he may be snared & caught & taken

Plate 9:
We are at the court house man (Great solemn assembly). Satan, then as witnesses - Pala and Rintrah are there. But as Palamabron receives his judgement, Rintrah becomes enraged. Los, in turn, also starts fucking shit up on Albions rocks and such. Palamabron gets saved by Satans lack of temper and instigation by Rintrah that causes it

While yeah, at the same time he is accusing Palamabron of malice AND re-telling Urizens entire life story and betrayal which is pretty important because "Satan is among the reprobate" and IS URIZEN. So this part saves Palamabron because we have a whole other issue to worry about right now. He rages, opens his chest and attacks the assembly. World of deeper Ulro is mentioned here. The assembly men lament about this rly hard. And I quoteee:

Ulro is the internal condition of blackness, opacity, and darkness which occurs when the Divine Vision is lost. It is the abode of Satan and those who are in the state of Satan.

Meanwhile, Rintrah creates a separation - between himself, Satan, Palamabron.. So wrath and pity are separated which is BAD BAD. Also as a result Albion gets slayed oops

Note: I don't get what's up with Albion in here right now. Or did I even explain anything about Albion?

TLDR: In the mythology of William Blake, Albion is the primeval man whose fall and division results in the Four Zoas: Urizen, Tharmas, Luvah/Orc and Urthona/Los. The name derives from the ancient and mythological name of Britain, Albion . (src)

Plate 10: Having heard of Urizens identity within Satan, Los and Enitha do their work in stopping him, but Enitha succumbs to urizens religion and worsens the Fall by creating "Female Space", with the land of Canaan inside. Elynittria and Ocalythron appear, and are chided as they are emanations of Rintrah and Palamabron brought to life through their jealousy. Basically, Los says it is their fault that their worlds fell from this

Plate 11: He goes over to destroy Albions emanation/Eon. Los bars Enitha from seeing all that, meanwhile Satan is ruling over and rejoicing and declaring himself above god. Meanwhile, Eden defend their judgement over Palamabron by saying that the three classes compel the existence of natural evil.

Then we have Leutha come in, offering herself and repenting on behalf of herself and Satan. In here, she is now updated to be both Satans emanation and mistress. She, as his muse, leaves him for Palamabron, only to be surprised by the possessiveness of Palamabrons emanation - Elynittria.
note: this reminds me of.. "I loved Theotormon, And I was not ashamed"

Plate 12: In here Leutha explains to us that night by night she inside of Satans brain dulled his 'masculine' perceptions and only kept the feminie ones, leaving him without a feeling of inspiration and only adoration mixed with envy for Palamabron. on the day of the role reversal. On that day, she unleashed herself from Satans chest and did some kinda rainbow thingy, but the creatures of the Harrow saw her as parodying Elynittria, so they got really upset
A fall happened of the entirety of Harrow. Leutha creates the serpent during this, from the dark fires happening around. The gnomes refuse Satan and revolt, and Leutha comes out once or twice to tell them to keep working. They're like nah fuck off. Before Palamabron comes back + Elynittria, and Satan has wine, he recalls his past life as Urizen, and also, unable to handle the confrontation, casts Leutha out, confirming that he has fallen.

Plate 13:

Leutha is supported by the divine party. There are also discussions of their final merge into the Spectre of Luvah

She flees to Enitharmon who created a new space to save Satan from punishment.
The space is given 6 thousand years of fallen history, seven eyes of god and two limits, of Opacity - named Satan, then Contraction - named Adam.

From some googling I understood the meaning behind the seven eyes of God - these are the people sent over to watch Satan themselves. And I quoteee:
For six thousand years, fallen man tries to regain the fourfold vision, through seven epochs, each called an Eye of God. First comes Lucifer, whose error is egotism. Then comes three phases of infernal justice: Molech (execution), Elohim (judgment), and Shaddai (accusation). Next comes Pahad, a reign of terror after justice fails, followed by two attempts at order: Jehovah (law) and Jesus (forgiveness).
Blake further subdivides history into twenty-seven churches (systems of religious thought) in three groups: from Adam to Lamech, from Noah to Terah, and from Abraham to Luther. Blake sees Milton as the eighth Eye or twenty-eighth church, a new concept of religion without hierarchy, orthodoxy, and other Satanic perversions of faith. Thus, Blake’s epic announces a new phase of Christianity liberated from dogma and law.

The Elect are saying some shit about meeting the Redeemed and weeping in disgust over a Transgressor identifying himself as a Savior is this about Satan ?? I need to sit at my desk for this I'm unwell. They seem to be guilty

Elynittria finds Leutha, soothes her, and gets her to Palamabrons bed. In here she creates and bears the Spectre of Sleep, Death; and Rahab, mother of Tizrah. Oothoon was her guard in all this.

^...All this was a Bards prophetic song. The divine court was like what the fuck are you talking about why are you mixing Pity and Love with Guilt. Soo... In here we figure that they too are of the class of Redeemed, as in needing redemption, as in their pity and love did not lead them into making good choices. Okay girl

Plate 14: The bard says I sing according to the poetic genius guys. Then the court gets frightened by that, because this story causes them to doubt the world getting saved and all. Albion is used to show their feeling of doubt, I think, as I look over the commentary and how he is described to tremble all over the world, causing the bard to seek refuge in Miltons chest.

Milton speaks of choosing Eternal Death, i.e. incarnation. He speaks of how England learnt nothing and follows the epic of "Gods of Priam" in war and suffering, yada. He realizes that he is in Eternity with his selfhood still intact, so he chooses to go toward the fallen world, to see the morning of Ressurection. Now this is something I can't put into my words so.. Take it away Bloom:

The climax of Milton's speech (lines 28-32) is his recognition that his prophetic legacy or
emanation is endangered. As Satan-Hayley appears to triumph, it becomes clear that those in
Eternity who could be deluded by him must dwell with the Classical Muses, whom Milton had
repudiated, and not with the Hebraic Daughters of Beulah. So Milton declares that he, an
Eternal still plagued by Selfhood, is himself Satan-Hayley unless he can undergo the purgation
of descent. In the moving conclusion to his speech, he undoes the errors of Paradise Lost and
goes to claim the Hells of fallen reality as the creative furnaces of the prophet’s art.

Then, the world of Beulah intervenes as Milton tries to move on from Eternity to world of Albion (mortality). He sees his shadow, both male and female, and enters it. The shadow is 27-fold, as in its total form represents the 27 entities of the Churches of Delusion. There are also Seven Angels of Presence/Eyes of God, the law imposers who weep over this

Note: Eternity wept over him too. That was really interesting..Eternity too is a person

Plate 15: As he walks into Illusion, he is allowed by the seven angels to be lucid for his pretty much sleep like walk. His body walks in Eden, his soul walks in Beulah, then in Generation. An Eighth Divine Image joins.as an emblem of apocalypse. He walks on, at first like a Polypus, so I guess this means his spiritual development, and falls down like a comet downwards - just like Satans fall.

There is a mention of his walk through The Vortex which I swear I do not get so take it away Bloom

The Vortex The vortex is the eddy or whirlpool of eternal consciousness, whose
center is the object eternal consciousness intends. Since center and circumference are not sepa
rate in eternal vision, the perceiver is at once at the apex of his vision, and yet able to regard it
from a distance. But when Milton passes into Beulah, he leaves eternity for time, and moves to
the apex of his own vision. He is thus objectified, and the eternal circumference of his vision
rolls up behind him. The eddy of perception is solidified into the globed universe of Newtonian
observation. What survives of eternal vision depends upon the temporal perceiver’s imagination,
for he can still encompass his vortex and see the object world in its human dimension (line 27),
as “one infinite plane” (32)

He sees Albion, who has been sick or dead or on the verge of death for a while of these events. He sees within the apex of vision, entering his heart, that fallen Urizen and fallen Tharmas are inside, ruining his heart. He then falls into time and space, and appears to the world in a Similar fall as Satan. He enters through Blakes foot, changing his stance from Palamabron to Rintrah, from civilizing poet to redeeming prophet. He enters through the left, and the result isn't that great - the Spectre still bothers him. The black cloud is still there,

Plate 17:
Then, Milton realizes that he could reach the Three Heavens of Beulah, the highest form of vision the redeemed nature or Beulah can give, if he is to rescue his family from Ulro by sacrificing his selfhood.
He writes about the cruelties of Ulro as his family is there till the judgement day

His family is named : Rahab, a Leutha type character, then Tirzah, & Milcah & Malah & Noah & Hoglah. Daughters of the sonless Zelophehad. who have lead Moses into recognizing female inheritance IG.

Rahab prosides over Miltons broken five senses, then the scene is transformed so that Milton, in the state of Rock Sinai,dictates laws to lesser masses - Hor & Peor & Bashan & Abarim & Lebanon & Hermon in the desert of Midian

Then, his shadow continues over to the Mundane Shell, Urizens fallen world, above rocky masses in the lands of Edom & Aram & Moab & Midian & Amalek.

He walks upon the rocks of Horeb in Midian, toward Satans seat. Los and Enitharmon take this as Satans new coming, so they get scaredmaxxed.

Plate 18: The shadowy female shares her plan to spread grief and entrap Milton, the new prophet, into the divisions of Rahab(visible church) and Tirzah(necessitiy of natural limitation)
The Orc pleads his wife to not do that in that bastard tone of his, and pleads her to assume the role of Vala(Luvahs emanation), seems like not for the first time either. Enraged, she begins doing magic fuckery and so does he. Man and nature fight, earthquake etc. Oothoon and and Leutha were there for the conversation BTW. I think either they or the commotion causes to wake the dead AND...
URIZEN STANDS UP...

Plate 19: Urizen and Milton meet at the river of error - Arnon. Crossing it means a transition from death to life, Urizen to Luvah. Urizen pours water from Jordan over Milton, Milton forms him with the red clay. TakeitawayBloom: "Urizen is seeking to baptize Milton into the moral law, lest a new Incarnation come into the fullness of prophetic vision. Milton seeks to mold Urizen into a New Adam, utilizing the materials with which Christ gave vision to the blind man "
Then we get a lookover the fallen world:

They are the Four Zoa’s that stood around the Throne Divine!
But when Luvah assum’d the World of Urizen to the South:

All fell towards the Center in dire ruin, sinking down.
And in the South remains a burning fire; in the East a void.
In the West, a world of raging waters; in the North a solid,

Is built eternally the Universe of Los and Enitharmon:
Towards which Milton went, but Urizen oppos’d his path

Urizen did not want him to cross over. Fearing the same, Rahab and Tizrah, "eligion-hid-in-war, and sadism-hid-in-natural possessiveness," get under guises to stop him. They sing to him to come to Ephraim, to behold the Amalekites(enemies of the Promise, associated with Uri). They talk of Europe as a ghost worldin Rephaims Vale. In here emanations lament and humanity is harmed by religion and puritanism.

Then we are introduced to Hand, Hyle, Coban, Reuben. TakeitawayBloom:
Hand is the Spectre of Urizen or fallen mind; Hyle is fallen matter, and Coban is an emblem of political tyranny. Scofield (the actual soldier who accused Blake of treason) is a new Adam of the Urizenic kind, a soldier who stands before the gate of every Reuben, the ordinary, unstable man among Jacob’s sons.

In 19:58 ff, Hand has become the rock of the Law, and Hyle and Coban, the Law’s surroundings in Sinai and Horeb. Tirzah’s triumph is to have separated the sexes still further (19:60-20:2) and given them the illusive vision of the triple heavens of Beulah as a final goal.

Plate 20: Milton stood in front of the forming Urizen, which is his Redemptive state. His mortal/elect portion, belonging to the past, is frozen to the rock of Law. His His Reprobate/prophetic state is in the domain of Eternity.
Milton descends from Blake, since their joining didn't have a positive result and only his Reprobate form joined him. So he seeks a place at the tomb of the Law on Sinai in Horeb

Albion gets woken up by Miltons descent and urges him to not go beyond the skies that hold chaos. He mentions the gatekeepers of Satans seat, Og and Anak, then there is a mention of Golgonooza, which is the spiritual fourfold London kept in Albions body. Anyway Milton jumps straight through his heart, right thru the Chaos, Ulro, and toward the gatekeepers.

The Eternals resent Miltons goal, just like in the book of Urizen. The Watchers, i.e. the seven eyes and the Shadowy Eighth(eternal Milton?? wdym + emblem of christ) lok over this in rage. The mention of Reuben and Gad is a reference to Joshua 22, where those tribes build an altar to God, which is mistaken by the other tribes as a transgression. Blake therefore implies that the threatened departure of Rintrah and Palamabron is only provisional, a seeming abandonment of Los. Misunderstanding, Los weeps, gazing into the black water of fallen history, the blood of Albion

During this depressive moment he recalls the old prophecy of Milton ascending from Felpham to Ulro and liberating Orc from chains of jealousy

Plate 21: Now we are trransported to Udan-Adan, world of illusive appearances. Satan sleeps, His Spectral censor awake, His Shadow of restrained desire asleep - they cant both be awake at the same time

Blake aqcuires vision of the natural world, and had become both reprobate and redeemed from their union. Imagination found its place in the earth of Eden, in Urthonas strong nerves, but now it dwells in Ulro beneathh Beulah. Those regions havent been opened to the sight of Eternity tho due to the breach Milton made by descending in ruined Albions heart < I have no clue what the fuck this means to a 100 im summarizing. Anyway with this vision on Blakes foot (as its the body part associated with Urthona) he walks on thru eternity.

Then we get a mention of Ololon, the river of life in Eden and the cause of Miltons sixfold emanation. All of Eden alongside the river laments of things lost/not done and that the eternals have missed the Bards songs' meaning - basically they understand the Reprobates role now. Every damn thing in ntaure is wailing here

There is talk of sorrow and slavery as Luvahs bull are made to drag orbs, then made shiny by enslaved people for seven mornings (i think). Which turned into the Four suns of the east west etc etc collected by the divine family turn into one, as one Man that weeps over his brother. Ololon also wishes to descend, to repent for missing Miltons goal, but Divine Family said nope. Watch over this World of Sorrow and renew it to Eternal Life. U cant renew Milton hes going to eternal death. This I also don't really get, why the slavery? Is that how the world of sorrow is ruled?? why??

Los descends to Blake, behind his back, and binds his sandals into the dream world mentioned above or something. They stood in the Vale of Lambeth, then they KISSED and became one. Blake got overwhelmed by Los terrors now that he's entered his soul. And then he stands up looking all cool and strong and furious

Los speaks of being a Shadowy Prophet that fell 6k years ago. And now he returns and has no time to waste !! He seems to be going against the themes of loss, as in moving beyond them.

This though I don't get:
"The generations of men run on in the tide of Time, but leave their destined lineaments permanent for ever & ever"

If Los said that once Satan fell he were cut off from things, like his spiritual vision or what? Either way he says that things that "disappear" in the vision never really disappear for him so he is all seeing. So maybe that's what it's about

Palamabron and Rintrah greet them both at the gates of art /Golgonooza looking really gloomy and broody. They warn him about not unleashing Milton, referring to him as a power Urizenic, that he will unchain Orc, that The Shadowy Female is causing havoc in heaven, that the daughters of Los are makinga new religion from jealousy of Theotormon, that Milton is the cause of this and needs to be stopped.

Then he talks about how they have to be patient and not let this divide them, brings up the prophecy about Milton again. There's a mention of being patient till they "gave quenched the Sun of Salah" in Udan Adan. Which means prematurely gratifying a lust for completion

He recalls his other sons who have left him, wandering with Tizrah. How he is left alone of the four zoas as the watcher of eternity.

Plate 26: Now there is discussion of the work of the Sons of Los and rapture through dances and anthropomorphized nature and how we only see this rapture in a certain way (as in humans without the spiritual vision)

A mention of 2 gates that souls descend from like the two gates of Thel. The South - Urizen, and North - Urthona. Being born achieving mundane incarnation designed by Urizen, dying sends u to the world of imagination. Now Los is taking care of the east - which is suffering from Luvahs lack of presence, and is making sure that Beulah does not get in the way of the cycle of birth and death

Antamon in here is shown as an artist and he picks up weeping Spectres and molds them into 'sweet forms'. The Daughters of Beauty cloth the spectre into a human form.

Meanwhile Theotormon (masochistic fear in here) and Sotha (musical associations) are also dealing with spectres but they keep fucking scaring them/the spectres at first seek violence rather than soothing forms. Get it? Because you can't make a soothing form with a malicious heart! Ha! IDK I'm guesstimating. There are also mentions of sevens and eights all around which are in relation to the Seven Eyes/Angels in Milton and the Eighth being Jesus as a companion telling of apocalypse.

Then the sons of Ozoth gatekeep the sun and moon and stars and trees and clouds and waters (bro how much) from the Optic Nerve of..humans? Bloom says that "Ozoth stands for a broader artist’s vision than Antamon, and presumably for self-limiting vision in natural decay." so

Okay, so now is the mention of the sons of Los building all concepts of time. There are also daughters of Beulah feeding "Sleepers on their Couches with maternal care" Couches were mentioned with Albion, so are the sleepers like the sleeping gods?

Sleep was transformed to Death in the Optic vegetative Nerves, in old time by Satan. Satan is mentioned to be the spectre of Orc, and Orc the generate of Luvah.

In the final passage of Book 1, the war of vision against Satan’s Watch-Fiends is seen in its
darker aspects, for the greater emphasis falls on the multiple forms of the adversary, the Female
Will in its many guises of Rahab, Tirzah, and the Daughters of Zelophehad. The identity of
Blake’s situation and biblical tribulations is again suggested, for Blake’s Vale of Surrey is one
with Horeb, desert of moral virtue, ensuing in Rephaim, or the shades of a death-in-life. In the
final sweep of vision here, the waters of the earth rise to wash the black Woof of death woven
by Tirzah’s restrictive doctrines, and the gore of suffering humanity is "woven” into the great
veil of covering nature, the oceans from the Atlantic to the South Sea. All of Ocean together is
now the Erythrean, the Red Sea of affliction over which the vision of Los must help us to pass.
The Elohim are one of the Seven Eyes as gods of creation, and so all of Nature, seen through
the eyes of Blake-Los, can be considered a necessary part of the bloody progression toward reve
lation. With this deliberately equivocal declaration, the precarious recovery of Experience is
completed.

Milton, book 2

Plate 30: There is a place where Contrarieties are equally True. This place is called Beulah, It is a pleasant lovely Shadow

There is talk of Beulah and its redemption, plus the children of Ololon that have descended there and are currently lamenting over Milton. Also Bloom says..

Beulah is both static and less than fully human, though it is a vision of the earthly paradise,
or nature in its best and most imaginative aspect. There can be no progression through contraries
in it, and progression is necessary to human existence, whether to the fallen human in Genera
tion or the primordial or restored human in Eden. The paradox of Beulah is therefore that it is
both a higher and lower state than Generation or Experience. The dangerous similarity of the
lower level or gate of Beulah to Ulro is always in Blake's mind, and hovers throughout this long
description which opens Book II of the poem.

To her inhabitants, Beulah appears motherly. To son of Eden, only as a rest from wars of eternity. Emanations are her inhabitants btw.
The emanations speak to Los:

But the Emanations trembled exceedingly, nor could they
Live, because the life of Man was too exceeding unbounded
His joy became terrible to them they trembled & wept
Crying with one voice. Give us a habitation & a place
In which we may be hidden under the shadow of wing

Which is a subtle ref to the winged staff of Hermes. Basically they want their own space too

Plate 31: Which is created, a mild Shadow. However

"But every Man returnd & went still going forward thro’
The Bosom of the Father in Eternity on Eternity
Neither did any lack or fall into Error without
A Shadow to repose in all the Days of happy Eternity
Into this pleasant Shadow Beulah, all Ololon descended
And when the Daughters of Beulah heard the lamentation
All Beulah wept, for they saw the Lord coming in the Clouds
And the Shadows of Beulah terminate in rocky Albion."

So now everyone is weeping countries included. Mention of the creatures of the four elements like leftovers of the four zoas - aggregate - Satan and Rahab, who know not of Regeneration, only Generation. Then the fairies(Urizenic), nymphs(Tharmas), gnomes(Urthona), genii(Luvah) of the four elements who are unforgiving and unalterable, you cant regenerate them, only create. Then there's a mention of war between the contraries

of Blake’s day, the wars of revolution and reaction, the wars of the natural man howling as a

Then there is the song of spring by the Nightingale and the Thrush, Linnet, Goldfinch, Robin and the Wren

They sing of the vision of the lamentation of Beulah over Ololon, but since it comes from the experiental world, it seems happy to the generative man aka us. Then there is talk of nature and antrho-ing the month of May/Spring itself

Og and Anak, previously archers of Albions tomb, guard the center of Individual Vision, though they want to destroy it. Though there might be a nudge in the opposite direction

So while book 1 is about the consequences of descent, book 2 is showing what follows Ololons response. ok cool
Plate 32: Milton sits on the Couch of Death and declares that he is turning his back on Eden because the Heavens of Eden are built on cruelty due to the element of exclusiveness. Miltons Spectre is following Ololon through Ulro, while his current state stays at the couch.

Hillel(Day star(Lucifer)) (also one of the Seven Eyes/.Angels) speaks to him over states and how he can not go to eternal death(Milton) for he is a state yet to be created. He also speaks of Satans-spawn and Humans-spawn and what kind of beings they are or what they hold within themselves.

To quote Bloom again..

The Seven Eyes, which are both historical cycles and stages within individual life, are not Individuals but Com
binations thereof, multitudes awaiting the Judgment. They know themselves therefore to be
impermanent and fallen; as Druids (line II) they founded natural religion based on warfare and
human sacrifice, under the dominion of Albion’s Spectre. They proceed to the story of the two
Limits of Satan and Adam, the twenty-seven Churches and other familiar matter, but with the
radical innovation of the new State of Eternal Annihilation of Self, about to be created in the
regenerated Milton. The best commentary on this state remains that of Murry, passim . Line 29
is rhetorically curious for Blake, yet very moving in its context.

There are more discussions on the states and how they function - for example, Imagination isnt a state, but love wiithout imagination is. Don't look at me like that idgi either

The plate ends with one of the central images of M ilto n , probably
suggested to Blake by his own earlier use of it in the M arriage, where Swedenborg’s writings
were the linen clothes folded up, castoff garments of Natural Religion. Milton has announced
his resolve to descend by taking off the robe of the promise on Plate 14. Here, at the close of
Plate 32, the Regenerate see in the castoff clothes of the body of death the destruction of the
natural destiny woven for them by the Female Will.

plate 33: Soo, back to the Song of Beulah.
There is talk of love that was torn apart from jealousy until there were nothing to give which kind of reminds me of enitharmon maybe... "Thy love depends on him thou lovest & on his dear loves" who's the him? Either way, the jealousy causes whoever this is said to to be sentenced to death. From the notes I see that the speaker is the unfallen Man-God talking to Rahab-Tizrah-Vala, aka aggregate Female Will. Shortly this is a warning against possessiveness and jealousy with a bit of whoreshaming in it NGL

plate 34: so the songs of Beulah continue on, trying to comfort Ololons lamentations. They say, art thou not the bad bitch(Fiery Circle) that drove the 8 immortal starry ones down into the ulro?! Are you not the one who rended the heavens of beulah with thunders and lightnings??

So Ololon goes chasing Milton again. She goes on a path of created states rather than creating ones, though. She meets the four states of humanity - Beulah (sleep, head) Alla (heart, unconditioned dreaming; fantasy world), Al-Ulro(Loins, ?) and Or-Ulro( Stomach, ?). The last two are emanations of our world.

In Ulro they see a "self-devouring monstrous Human Death Twenty-Seven fold; Within it sit Five Females & the nameless Shadowy Mother" which is Or-Ulro I think. OMG The Shadowy Female is here. They lure the sleepers of Beulah into the Arnon, the dead sea

OK and takeitawaybloom:

Ololon, with great courage, seeks out the Or-Ulro, which is described by allusion to Thel’s
vision at the end of her Book . Since her quest is for Milton, she must follow the track of his
course “To where the Contraries of Beulah War beneath Negations Banner” . As these Contraries
are equally true in that context, such war leads to no progression, and so exalts only the barren
cause of Negation.

Then we get a recall of how the Four Zoas came to ruin:

Four Universes round the Universe of Los remain Chaotic
Four intersecting Globes, & the Egg form’d World of Los
In midst; stretching from Zenith to Nadir, in midst of Chaos.
One of these Ruind Universes is to the North named Urthona
One to the South this was the glorious World of Urizen
One to the East, of Luvah: One to the West; of Tharmas.
But when Luvah assumed the World of Urizen in the South
All fell towards the Center sinking downward in dire Ruin

Then this I'd rather insert in than shorten in a wrong manner..

Here in these Chaoses the Sons of Ololon took their abode
In Chasms of the Mundane Shell which open on all sides round
Southward & by the East within the Breach of Miltons descent
To watch the time, pitying & gentle to awaken Urizen
They stood in a dark land of death of fiery corroding waters
Where lie in evil death the Four Immortals pale and cold
And the Eternal Man even Albion upon the Rock of Ages[.]
Seeing Miltons Shadow, some Daughters of Beulah trembling
Returnd, but Ololon remaind before the Gates of the Dead

They look down into the Heavens of Ulro, and they (her daughters) question the brutality within them.

In plate 35, the Female Forms are compelled to weave the Woof of Death, including there Tizzrahs Courts, Malahs on Blackheath, Rahab and Noah. So uh this is bringing forth the daugthers of Zelophehad again, which is bloom says a consolidation of symbolism presented earlier in the poem. Where "once The Cherubs of Jerusalem spread to Lambeths Vale, Milcahs Pillars shine from Harrow to Hampstead where Hoglah on Highgates heights magnificent Weaves over trembling Thames" ... so uh. yea. I have no clue.

The War and Hunting of Eden are the mental fight, and their function as the two fountaints of the river of life are now renewed for the apocalyptic scene that comes after(referred to as Moment)

Now after Ololon has said all of the above ^ They stand in front of the path to Golgonooza, which only can be reached by passing the Polypus, either until you round it by four fold vision or become mortal and vegetable in sexuality, "then you behold its mighty Spires and Domes of ivory and gold". \

Ololon examines all of the couches of the dead Zoas, los, enitharmon, all sons of albion, his four zoas terrified and on the verge of death, in midst of those she sees Mltons Couch, and the eight immortal starry ones, guarding it. Ololon, now referred to in plural for she is six fold, prostrates before the starry ones, asking for forgiveness. The starry ones rejoiced, seeing her descended.

The Wild Thyme, loses messenger to Eden, appears as a small root creeping in grass and covering over the rock of odours with his purple mantle, near the fount above the larks nest in golgonooza. Luvahs empty tomb is there. I guess since he's a demon his presence in a higher place is tiny. Ololon sits beside the fountain on the rock. Where the Lark mounts is a crystal gate, its the entrance oft he First Heaven, Luther. Lark is Losses messenger thru the twenty seven churches, that the seven eyes uh.. well Bloom help
Bloom says:

The Wild Thyme is the messenger of Los from Generation to Eden, a destructive demon only

Churches. As a reminder of the creative power of Los, the Lark prevents the deathly slumber of
any of the Seven Eyes. The Twenty-eighth Lark, like the sometime-mentioned Eighth Eye, is a
direct emblem of apocalypse in the here and now, and hence the final Lark or “mighty Angel”
who meets Ololon as she descends into Blake’s garden to herald the revelation that is to climax

abt the moment..

It is important to remember that the Moment is that of Ololon’s actual arrival in our world, a
pulsation of the artery in which Blake’s work as poet is done. The Moment is hidden from the
merely Satanic vision of empiricism, even though it is a moment within the context of space and
time. Its two streams stem from the pure river of water of life in Revelation 22:1. One flows
through the poet’s act of creation on to a restored earthly paradise and then on to Eden or
finality. The reference to “ Los’s western W all” may be to the human body as a limit of the Fall.
The other stream at first appears to be lost, since it flows through the abyss of space and the
organized delusions of the Twenty-seven Churches, only to end in Satans Seat, or mere waste
and error, but beyond that Seat it flows again into Golgonooza and is reunited to its sister stream.
This is one of Blake’s most hopeful declarations, for it insists that nothing is lost from the poet’s
Moment, a statement directly contrary to Shelley's in The Defence of Poetry, where the mind in
creation is confronted by the necessity of loss.

plate 38: It's explained like above about thecities of Levites/Polypus, etc. It is said that Urizen has woven that into sexes from his mantle, and Milton having collected the result of that work descended into Blakes cottage. The Spectre of Satan stood at the roaring sea and raged, at hte Felpham shore; and he held Milton in his sleeping human form. Blake was within Satans bosom and beheld the desolations. That universe is ruined and full of suffering and fruitless work by Angels + mention of Ruined Babylon

Milton calls to him from the eastern porch (LUVAH? LOVE? HE COMES WITH LOVE?) and says that while cyclical smiting (one smites another, a third smites the first, etc) are the laws of his false heavens but not of Eternity, where you self annihilate for the sake of yourself and others. He mentions how Satan uses his priests and churches to cause humans to fear of death, to teach them terror and selfishness; Miltons goal is to make them despise death and go on to scorn terror as they reach enlightenment thru self annihilation. This isn't a pro-suicide thing it's something else btw..

Satan hears him, approaches him, and demands worship; declaring himself God. Basically throwing a fit over this

Plate 39: the Seven eyes of god tell albion to wake up and cast his spectre Satan toward the lake of Los with its ever burning fires. Satan turns in to himself but is afraid of devouring a vital part of himself so he only circles it like a lion. He basically achieves his new demonic form with an imitation of the great humanity divine surrounded by Cherubs and seraphim. On his right hand is sin, left - death, all around - ancient night. also the seven angels sounded the trumpets of apocalypse

Albion rises up and we have his four pillars explained - London, Bath, Legions and Edinburgh. He sees Satan trembling,and tears up. He tries to sit up but fails at first, sinking back down onto his couch in moony Beulah. Los, as his guard, walks around under moonlight.

Urizen faints among the Brooks of Arnon, with Miltons Spirit in the form of a shepherd? Meanwhile while Milton is doing all that, Satan is causing havoc and chaos which Blake, Ololon and the seven angels look at. Ololon speaks to Milton of her ivsions of his other form doing self annihilation shit and Los, Urizen, Orc and Tharman, which his self anihillation gives life to. She feels guilt again, seems to find natural religion/Female Will absurd.

Rahab appears out of nowhere at the east side, paved work across Europe and Asia. Her forms are mentioned: religion hiddden in war, "hidden harlot", red dragon, and thaat within her were the seven kingdoms of Canaan and five Baalim of Philistea I think? I believe in here she is shedding away those garments and is presenting as the "harlot" basically

Plate 41: Milton pretty much talks to Ololon and urges her to cast away things that weigh on them, false garments; mention of casting off the idiot Questioner which is Spectre itself; Ololon is a bit fearful of accepting human love though?

Plate 42: Ololon of Female Love joins Miltons rejected Shadow in the chaotic sea, she is presented as the Dove seen by Noah, descends to Blakes vale as a moony ark of salvation, in a redemptive garmen - which is bloody and of divine wordf. Jesus is also sort of included here, like the starry eighth.

Front piece speaks of the Void outside of Existence through which you enter into and it becomes a WOMB, so I guess this means that it's referencing the whole recreation/regeneration of self. Then usual talk of with good evil must come. Los walks in btw. Albion is madly fallen btw

To the public mentions a call from a God that from the cave of Sinais gave to humans the sky of writing. But then there's a mention of him speaking in thunder and fire which reminds me of urizen and antamon.. the god said hey. Earth heaven and hell shall live in harmony.

Chap 1
Jerusalem ch1p4, Jesus speaks to Blake and awakes him to write a song which talks to Blake and Albion simultaneously. To Blake he's like bro we are besties you are in me and I am in you etc. To Albion he basically calls him to return, to unhide his enamation which now is Jerusalem. We are one!

Albion is like, fuck you bitch we are not one we are many. You wish to entrap me with your love! And then he goes, I quote
"The Malvera, the Cheviot, the wolds Plinlimmon and Snowdon are mine. Here I will build my laws of Moral Virtue!"

From his back, from pain and anguish his spectre (of Urthona, the notes say ) divides from him, wailing, weeping, stands over his body and berates him for trying to save Albion, his "fake friend" in Spectres eyes. Urizen and Los first, now Albion too? He's got a savior complex. Spectre goes and I shit you not, he drinks thee up like water! Like wine he pours thee.
Either way he says no Spectre I shall not go into wrath. Something about Lambs and Jesus and pity meeting wrath. Let us wait and embrace Albion who does not wish to be saved...which also.... Right. Palamabron and Rintrah.
Spectre also speaks of Albions Spectres forming according to his rage. and the number eight is there. huuh.

When the Spectre speaks of Albions actions this is what he means (takeitawaybloom):
the Triple Accuser is loose in England, and the dictates of that Augustan trinity— reason, nature, and
society— serve to confirm the fallen condition of Albion. Coban’s son is Nimrod, the tyrant who
hunts mankind (for Blake’s source, see Paradise L o s t XII 24 ff) which means that society will be
displaced completely by the organized murder of warfare. Kox, Scofield’s companion, is the Noah
of the “indefinite” world presided over by the starry wheels, so that all of us are seen as a soldiery

of the red loam of Edom, for the prophecy of the red man from Edom as savior (Isaiah 63:1-6)

Los being Los, per usual. He threatens his Spectre with Hell as he sees it fall into a satanic self righteous path, and the Spectre responds to this submissively. Hand is used here specifically to show that satanic impression/effect. The Spectre who is Urthona-Blake, is sat on the stone of london which is set to be the place to rebuild Golgonooza. Also they labor like crazy at his furnaces to create a new selfhood out of this Spectre, until the Spaces of Erin are created, which are a space that shields from chaos and all things not taking into the saving vision)

He has the spectre labor about until the children of Jerusalem become the children of Los, so he can protect them from Albion's dread spectres. Also, the sons of Albion take two contraries (quantities), with which every substance is clothed, and name them good and evil. From these they make an abstract.

Los is writhing like crazy in here, howling through the night, stomping, beating shit up, and cursing everyone and their mom. Every concept to exist on earth has an authoritarian breakdown at Urthona specifically, telling Urthona to obey or else.

Urhona snaps back at being made to be misery, to see no compassion, to be "knowing and seeing life, yet living not." They ask him how they cannot despair in a situation like that; he cries, "where is my Enitharmon(inspiration)?".

Los wiped off his tears but didn't give any comfort and continued on the labor until his sons and daughters came from the furnaces.

from commentary it seems to be that los is JEALOUS of his emanation and well, clearly suffers from possessive love, which Urthona calls him out on.

bro is creating systems and individuals out of clay and ore. He is making a system that causes so that if a Spectre were to try to devour a being of experiental world, the spectre will feel pain. Erin and Daughters of Beulah come out of the furnaces. Then, his sons and daughters came in perfect form, and the spaces of Erin stretched up to the skies. Los started crying lmfao.

The children embrace Los, grieving briefly of when will they meet him again, and think of what to do for Jerusalem, to save emanations/children of Albion from malice. Sabrina and Ignoge sharpen their spears of light and love, their children standing with the arrows. Regan cruel and Scofield(new Adam of war) in iron armour are mentioned,, "like a mandrake in the earth before Reubens(oldest sons of Israel) gate"
association w/ mandrake based on Genesis 30:14, symbol of vegetated natural man. Scofield is a distortion of the already fallen natural, a threat to the foundations of spiritual freedom.

Vala replaces Jerusalem as an emanation of Albion - Jerusalem represented liberty from all limitation, Vala - his bondage. Los laments that Albion is dead, for his emanation divided from him fully, yet he himself is alive, while he also feels that his emanation is dividing from himself. He laments about his spectres accusations being true, as Enitharmon continues to divide from him - how is he to live without her?

Then, he thinks back to God, and to the Furnaces, The Systems, "God is within, & without! he is even in the depths of Hell!"

Meanwhile the laborers lamented as well, the starry wheels of albions sons, spaces for Jerusalem - Los were terrified of them, they - terrified of Erins Spaces. The spaces built Golgonooza "terrible eternal labour"
Los looks up at the fruits of that labor, honestly he goes on and on mentioning parts from bricks and stones to furnitures - Lambeth is mentioned here, told to prepare the furnitures n their pitying looms; "Lambeth! the Bride the Lambs Wife loveth thee // Thou art one with her & knowest not of self in thy supreme joy."

Meanwhile Jerusalem wanders away among the Satanic wheels without Loses gate man what does that mean
Golgonooza stretches fourfold towards north, south, east, west, toward Eden, World of Generation, Beulah, Ulro, the space of the starry wheels of Albions sons - now we get into fucked anatomy again

The Eastern Gate fourfold is terrible, taking the forms of the wheels of albions sons, as cogs. Towards Eden - ice, frozen in seven folds of forms of death, Beulah - stone, seven diseases of earth, Ulro - warms, seven enormities, Generation - seven generative forms.

Every part of the city is fourfold, every inhabitant, everything inside this place is fourfold lmfao. But the third gate in every one is closed with a threefold curtain of ivory, fine linen, and ermine.

then the vegetative universe "opens like a flower" from the earths center, in which is eternity. it expands in stars to the mundane shell, meets eternity, and the voids between the stars which are the satanic wheels. Then there is a description of places like the cave, the rock, the tree, lake oif udan adan, Trees of Malice, Revenge, cities of Salamandrine men, (But whatever is visible to the Generated Man, Is a Creation of mercy & love, from the Satanic Void.), etc etc man, Los walks throughout the wallsnight and day. Views the city of Golgoonoza, the mills, work houses of Og and Anak, the Amalekite, Canaanite, Moabite, Egyptian, "all that has existed in the space of six thousand years" every word wish and work that has existed, in churches, ever consuming and buildig by the spectresm, of all the inhabitants of earth waiting to be created.

Shadowy to those who dwell not in them, meer possibilities:

AUGHHHHHHHH EXPLANATION:
Blake follows Ezekiel and Revelation in broad outline here, but the complex detail is mostly his own. For tables of correspondences that illuminate this sequence, see Damon, p 433, and Frye, pp 277-278.
The general pattern of symbolism here depends on the image of two sets of wheels whirling counter to one another. One set belongs to the living creatures or Zoas of Ezekiel’s vision, the other to the zodiac of Albion’s sons. In 13:13-14, we are told that the wheels of Los and his brethren are a divine parody of the natural wheels, a divine analogy drawn from nature which works to subvert nature. For all their fantastic properties, the walls of the City are sometimes humanized, particularly in 12:57-60.

The four points here clearly belong to mental rather than corporeal space, and define the position of the unfallen Albion. The Western Gate is closed because of the fall of Tharmas, so as to symbolize our inability to find our way back to Eden directly through the body. The most crucial aspect of all the gates is their terror for us; though this is the City of salvation through art, Blake cannot give us an altogether human image for his city, any more than Ezekiel or Yeats could. So the eastern gate toward Eden is frozen solid, signifying the limitations even of art in giving us an entrance into the eternal world. The “sevens” are derived from the imagery of the Revelation of John. Their presence in the Eastern Gate of Luvah associates them with the Savior, but the association is a complex one. Death exists because the way to Eden is blocked, and disease because the Beulah of love and fulfillment is stonified, and only Christ-as-Luvah can end death and disease. But the way to the fallen states through Luvah is not blocked; there we find the seven enormities of religion-hid-in-war, and the ambiguous forms of Generation.

The final complexity of this whole sequence, once its associations are worked out by reference to T h e Four Zoas, is Blake’s insistence on fourfoldness, following Ezekiel. That each Zoa or Gate should open four ways into the four different states of being is essential to Blake’s pattern, but it forces his reader into a kind of cartography which is not in itself imaginative. Ezekiel and the poet of Revelation force their readers into similar mental acrobatics, and perhaps this kind of vision demands a foray into the “mystical mathematics of the City of Heaven”.

13:30-14:15 This comprehensive catalogue of dread is the negation of vision, and is the grimmest passage of this kind in Blake. Most simply, it is his description of Ulro, and resembles the underworlds and hells of Virgil, Dante, and Milton. The Salamandrine men of 13:43 are presumably all of us, dwelling in our useless heat of anger. As this is unredeemed nature, the Twentyseven Churches of natural religion are an inevitable part of the vision. Yet all of this eternally exists “to those who enter into them” like Los. For all its horror, the world of nature is indestructible until the Last Judgment. The summary of terrors reaches its height in 14:1 ff where the major symbols of the Fall in The Fouur Zoas are brought together, ending with the lovely, but sinister because separated, emanations
.14:16-34 Against nature and its torments Los sets his own creations in this extraordinary passage, which in effect attempts to describe a poem’s state-of-being. Lines 26-28 are a sad admission that art shares something of the limitations of the Fall. Line 29 echoes Ephesians 3:18. In 31-34, Jerusalem has all but vanished from sight; the function of Los and his creations is to restore her before it is too late.

Albion is displaced by Vala and Satan into a world where children are sacrificed to Moloch. Orc is no longer the polypus, the twelve sons of Albion have replaced him in that, enrooting into every nation with constraints. Blake prays to have the strength to wake Albion as they are both bound by the mental chains of delusions of materiality by Bacon and Newton - btw he also calls himself a fourfold prophet. He turns towards the schools of Europe and sees the loom of Locke whose Woof rages, washed by the water wheels of Newton which are not as harmonizing or peaceful as those of Eden.
The four sons of Los work against nature and doom Adam through generation, Abraham's fight mentioned also. Los I believe had formed an ax of gold which then lead to his sons cutting the fibres from Albions hills. He's, and i quote, raging round his anvil

Losses spectre divides, and he compels it to labor and follow the Daughters of Albion while the hound(eh?) is following the scent of a being that inhabits the forest, "to drive them from his own". He wants to make a way for hisk ids to come from the Furnaces, but against Albions Sons his fury bends and he can't approach the daughters openly lest he get (from what I understand) seduced into complete undoing of his identity/strength.

He sends his spectre around the four points of heaven, the daughters flee at the sight, hide in druid temples, "Subdued by the Spectre of the Living & terrified by undisguisd desire".Los says, though his spectre is divided he is a living man and compels his spectre to obey - he griefs over Enitharmon and says he will restore the children (man whose kids r we talking abt, Enitharmons?)

Then he goes communist mode and says "No one bruises or starves himself to make himself fit for labour!", then he shittalks people (who??) that would never love his powers if they did not seek to destroy Enitharmon, that Vala would never have sought after and loved Albion had she not sought to destroy Jerusalem, so he is shittalking False/Generating Love, hypocricy that is cruel unlike the (what I assume to be) sugarcoating false love of Delusions of Beulah. "Calling that Holy Love: which is Envy Revenge & Cruelty "

Then he philosophizes about how negations are no contraries and contraries mutually exist, yet negations do not - exceptions, objections and unbeliefs do not - Then he speaks of separation from himself, that if one is separated from him they are a Negation, meanwhile an Emanation is his contrary. mmm. So I suppose he speaks to his spectre, which is no emanation but a separation.

He's cursing bro atp:

Despite the comfort of such words and Losses plan, Enitharmon divided away from him still, as a red globe of blood. Then he goes to say, Go to Skofield, ask him if he is Bath or Canterbury. Tell him to be not dubious. Tell him I will fuck him up. Tell Hand and Skofield they are my ministers of evils. Also yummy quote: To those I hate: for I can hate also as well as they!

explanations from the book itself:
Los sends the spectre of urthona to labor against nature in the four elements, and works by indirection as he fears the delusive beauty of the generative world. He masks himself in the hideousness of the Spectre, causing Death to flee Life in fear of its own livelihood. The spectre, divided from Los, is an isolated will helpless other than to destroy. But Enitharmon, on the other hand, is a contrary. This is essential if Los is to function as he must, he has grown wery of his isolation. The poet in Blake longs for an object-world that would come close and be a beloved companion, but only on terms other than a pretence of love to destroy love.

Re-telling of birth of Enitharmon from the book of uri, describing mental torment, disciplined remarkably considering its intensity. There is an implication that poetic creation ought to be only gain yet has become loss. The anguish leads to a violent outbreak, which ends a movement of the poem (when another divided from his back, etc.) Erdman interprets this ibographically, as one of Blakes fantasies of fighting back at his accusers. Skofield may rep a negative aspect of the two faced symbol Bath, the poisonous potential of the physical body. Or he may be a spiritual enemy, an agent of Church that claims authority over an English poet. The Accuser in here is ambiguous on purpose, but Blake-Los seeks to compel error to appear without its ambiguities. But the accuser and the brutalized natural man alike are warned by the prophet that their hatred serves a purpose contrary to what they intend. Harsh as the passage is, it is a fitting climax to the epiphany of Los in the first chapter of Jerusalem. The poem now begins a new movement, setting forth the history and condition of the man whom Los works to save. For the rest of its length, the first chapter of the poem is concerned with the relations between Jerusalem, Albion and Vala.

Hand and Hyle, eldest fathers of Albions little ones cry to destroy the divine savior, the friend of sinners, building castles in desolated places. Hand devours and absorbs the 12 sons. Out of his chest, a mighty polypus comes through, vegetating in darkness. Hyle and Coban are his ftwo chosen emissaries of war. Forth from his chest they went and returned, like wheels from a great wheel reflected in the Deep. hoarse turn the starry wheels, rending a way in albions loins beyond the night of beulah. meanwhile hes outstretched on the ground in pain and tears in a dark and unknown night.

explanation from book: the imaginative man can choose either to expand his circumference or center, but the spectral sons of albion succeed in contracting borth in a work of urizenic solipsism. they achieve cosmology and psychology of doubt and despair, then turn themselves accusingly at jerusalem. jerusalem can be understood as a more humanistic version of miltons christian liberty, freedom from all institutionalized restraint on spirituality. if she reunites to man, their reign ends, so they r really against that.

After that is the horror at sexuality assigned by the accusers who are interested only in war as a mode of sexual gratification. they come and go from albions bosom not as wheels radiating from a true wheel but as reflections sent by a reflection of the fallen albion, a mere appearnce in the great deep of mundane reality. By the end, the natural world exits from his breast and is separated from him. The passage can be compared with the opening speech of prometheus in Sherleys lyrical drama. Curious.. this one?

She left him for Palamabron but his emanations jealousy scared her off. She also explains how she dulled Satans perceptions and caused this situation to happen via a miscomunnication with the Harrow as well, leading to a fall.

Bloom said: Those in Eternity deluded by Satan dwell with the Classical Muses that Milton had repudiated, and not the Daughters of Beulah. So he declares that he is an eternal plagued by Selfhood, and is Satan until he can undergo purgation of descent. He goes against Paradise Lost and goes to claim the Hells of fallen reality as the creative furnaces of the prophet’s art.

World of Beulah tries to Intervene as Milton tries to move from Eternity to Albion (world of mortality). He sees his shadow of two sexes and enters it. The shadow is 27 form, representing the entities of the churches of Delusion. The law imposers/Seven eyes weep over this. Eternity does, too.

The seven angels keep him lucid as he walks. The body is in Eden, the soul in Beulah, then in Generation.

An Eighth divine image, i think Jesus, joins, an emblem of apocalypse.

He walks on, at first like a Polypus, so I guess this means his spiritual development, and falls down like a comet downwards - just like Satans fall. There is a mention of the Vortex

He walks through The Vortex, a whirlpool of eternal consciousness, whose center is the object eternal consciousness intends. It's some kind of time and space and dimension fuckery. You can look at it up close yet from a distance too.

He ses albion, enters his heart as he is sick/dead/on the verge, and sees Fallen urizen and tharmas inside, ruining his heart. He falls into time and space and enters Blakes body thru the left foot, changing his stance to Rintrah. Their merge has a bad result for the Spectre still bothers him.

Three Heavens of Beulah are mentioned, highest form of vision the redeemed nature/Beulah can give, if he can rescue his family from Ulro by sacrificing his selfhood.
Family is named: Rahab, a Leutha type character, then Tirzah, & Milcah & Malah & Noah & Hoglah. Daughters of the sonless Zelophehad. who have lead Moses into recognizing female inheritance IG
Rahab prosides over Miltons broken five senses, then the scene is transformed so that Milton, in the state of Rock Sinai,dictates laws to lesser masses - Hor & Peor & Bashan & Abarim & Lebanon & Hermon in the desert of Midian
Then, his shadow continues over to the Mundane Shell, Urizens fallen world, above rocky masses in the lands of Edom & Aram & Moab & Midian & Amalek.
He walks upon the rocks of Horeb in Midian, toward Satans seat. Los and Enitharmon take this as Satans new coming, so they get scaredmaxxed.

The Shadowy female has a plan to entrap Milton, which Orc doesnt like and wants her to assume the role of Vala, Luvahs emanation. They argue like crazy. The commotion wakes the dead, and Urizen stands up.

Arnon - river of error, where Urizen and Milton meet. Crossing it means moving from death to life, Urizen to Luvah.
Urizen pours water from Jordan, baptizing him into moral law.
Milton forms him with red clay, molding him into New Adam.

Then we get the fallen world of the four zoas explained
Urizen did not want him to cross over. Fearing the same,

Rahab and Tizrah, "eligion-hid-in-war, and sadism-hid-in-natural possessiveness," get under guises to stop him.
They sing to him to come to Ephraim, to behold the Amalekites(enemies of the Promise, associated with Uri).
They talk of Europe as a ghost world in Rephaims Vale. In here emanations lament and humanity is harmed by religion and puritanism.

Then we are introduced to Hand, Hyle, Coban, Reuben. TakeitawayBloom:
Hand is the Spectre of Urizen or fallen mind; Hyle is fallen matter, and Coban is an emblem of political tyranny. Scofield (the actual soldier who accused Blake of treason) is a new Adam of the Urizenic kind, a soldier who stands before the gate of every Reuben, the ordinary, unstable man among Jacob’s sons.

A spectre is a part of human psyche that signifies reason without humanity, fear, and opposition of creativity/love

Hand becomes the rock of law, Hyle and Coban - the laws surrounding Sinai and Horeb.
Tizrah separated the sexes and gives them the illusive vision of the triple heavens of Beulah as a final goal owch

Milton stood in front of the forming Urizen, which is his Redemptive state. His mortal/elect portion, belonging to the past, is frozen to the rock of Law. His His Reprobate/prophetic state is in the domain of Eternity. He descends from Blake, and seeks a place in the tomb of law mentioned above. Only his Reprobate form joined him in the merge soo.
Albion gets woken by his descent and warns him to not go beyond the skies.

He mentions the gatekeepers of Satans seat, Og and Anak, then there is a mention of Golgonooza, which is the spiritual fourfold London kept in Albions body.

Anyway Milton jumps straight through his heart, right thru the Chaos, Ulro, and toward the gatekeepers.
The Eternals resent this, and the Watchers (seven eyes) and the shadowy eighth (Eternal Milton + Emblem of Christ) look over this in rage. They descend through the head, heart and loins of Los into the generative world and become Ulros guards. This to Los is a sign of apocalypse and he worries his sons might descend too.

Misunderstanding, Los weeps, gazing into the black water of fallen history, the blood of Albion.
During this depressive moment he recalls the old prophecy of Milton ascending from Felpham to Ulro and liberating Orc from chains of jealousy

Imagination finds its place within Eden, in Urthonas nerves, but dwells in Ulro beneath Beulah. Those regions for now are closed to Eternity after Miltons descent into Albions heart.
Ololon, the river of life in Eden, cause of Miltons sixfold emanation - she is sixfold as well. She laments what has happened re:Milton and the eternals. everyone wails in fact
The world of sorrow is introduced, where Luvahs bulls drag orbs, enslaved people make them shiny, turned to four suns of the east, west, north, south; Ololon shares her want to descend in repentance, but is made to watch over this world and renew it to Eternal Life.

More explanation on Beulah - the place where contraries are equally true, pleasant Lovely Shadow.
There is talk of its redemption, plus children of Ololon that have descended there and are lamenting over Milton. Bloom says that Beulah is both static and less than fully human, though its a vision of earthly paradise, or nature in its best/most imaginative aspect. There can be no progression thru contraries, and progression is necessary for human existence, so the paradox is that it is both a higher and llower state than Generation or Experience. To her inhabitants, she is motherly, to son of Eden, only like a rest from wars of eternity. Emanations are her inhabitants btw.

They speak to Los, too, asking for a place they could have to their own.

She goes on a path of created states rather than creating ones, though. She meets the four states of humanity - Beulah (sleep, head) Alla (heart, unconditioned dreaming; fantasy world), Al-Ulro(Loins, ?) and Or-Ulro( Stomach, ?). The last two are emanations of our world.
In Or-Ulro is is a self devouring HUman Death 27fold, within it five females and nameless shadowy mother. They lure the sleepres of Beulah into Arnon, the dead sea

Looking down into the heavens of Ulro, her daughters question the brutality within them.

Now Ololon stands in front of Golgonooza, and she needs to pass the Polypus, descend/become mortal and vegetable in sexuality or round it by fourfold vision. Ololon examines the couches of the Zoas; they are on the verge of death. In the midst of this she sees Miltons couch guarded by the eight starry ones. She repents in front of them and descends into Los+Enitharmon, into Blakes garden.

The Wild Thyme, a desctructive demon to Ulro, and a purple flower to Luvah; he recalls the pastoral emnblem for the death of a young man/god. He and Ololon are near Luvahs tomb - who, being Christ, is risen, and Ololon waits for them
The larks are also a messenger of Los as the thyme, and they fly backward in time thru the heavens of the 27 churches into the seven eyes - the larks appear to ololon as a mighty angel and create a crystal gate on the rock, the entrance of the first heaven.

Also, the rivers, appearing lost at first, are flowing just fine into Golgonooza, reunited.

the larks r sending messages; Ololon descends as one female form to the vegetable world, meanwhile blake gets a cotton cottage from Los so he can write there. Ololon is addressed as the daughter of Beulah/Providence and taken in by Blake to help his three-year labor as a muse ig idfk. btw Ololon was aged down to a twelve year old

Ololon is seeking out Milton, guilty from driving him away from Eternity. Miltons Shadow descends, they see Covering Cherub and Rahab within it; even the form of the wicker man of scandinavia; who burns is victims in the stars (sons of Albion did that(i dont remember that))

In cloud and human form he descends to confront Ololon or both of them, within him they also see the churches of Beulah and Ulros Gods

Then we have the Gods and the 27 churches explained in detail. Bloom says all of this is the covering cherub, the spectre of albion, in which the spectre of luvah inhabits. Also the Chaotic Void has a Kingdom of Og in Orion, also Sihon has one in Ophicus i suppose, it has 27 districts, they compose the mundane shell, of 48 deformed human wonders(constellations) - which are both the cities of the levites and the heads of the polypus AND the priest dominated cities in our world(Don't look at me, idgi either), and though it outstretches very far it doesnt reach Eternity because of the fires of Los raging from urthonas caves.

All these are seen in Miltons Shadow who is the covering cherub atm. In Blakes belief the newtonian vision caused man to submit to their place in the covering cherub of war and exploitation

Milton calls to him from the eastern porch and says that while cyclical smiting (one smites another, a third smites the first, etc) are the laws of his false heavens but not of Eternity, where you self annihilate for the sake of yourself and others. He mentions how Satan uses his priests and churches to cause humans to fear of death, to teach them terror and selfishness; Miltons goal is to make them despise death and go on to scorn terror as they reach enlightenment thru self annihilation. This isn't a pro-suicide thing it's something else btw..

Satan hears him, approaches him, and demands worship; declaring himself God. Basically throwing a fit over this

The seven eyes of god tell albion to wake tf up, he does: satan starts engaging in autocannibalism but is too cowardly to aim for the vitals. Meanwhile Blake, Milton, Ololon see all this and Ololon speaks to Milton of her having visions of urizen and him. . She feels guilt again, seems to find natural religion/Female Will absurd.
Rahab briefly appears here in her "hidden harlot" form, also there are mentions of her other forms: eligion hiddden in war, red dragon, and thaat within her were the seven kingdoms of Canaan and five Baalim of Philistea

Milton pretty much talks to Ololon and urges her to cast away things that weigh on them, false garments; mention of casting off the idiot Questioner which is Spectre itself; Ololon is a bit fearful of accepting human love though?

Ololon of Female Love joins Miltons rejected Shadow in the chaotic sea, she is presented as the Dove seen by Noah, descends to Blakes vale as a moony ark of salvation, in a redemptive garmen - which is bloody and of divine wordf. Jesus is also sort of included here, like the starry eighth.

He saw the four, to whom the cities appear four-fold, he saw Jesus come from Felphams Vale, enter into Albions bosom, and the other four join around, sounding trumpets. Blakes bones trembled at the sound.

For a moment, his soul became mortal again, and shadow of delight of his stood beside, trembling.

Jerusalem

Front piece: speaks of the void outside of existence which you enter through regeneration style. Los is there, Albion is fallen, a God from Sinais that gave to humans the sky of writing is there, speaking in thunder and fire. He says earth and heaven shall live in harmony

Chapter 1

Plate 4-10
Jesus speaks to Blake and awakes him to write a song which refers to him and Albion together. To Blake he says - we are besties, you are me I am you. To Albion he pleads for his return and to unhide his enamation Jerusalem. Albion rejects this and says that they are not one but many. He takes this love as entrapment. He hides his emanation within Thames and Medway, rivers of Beulah.

There is an overwhelming about of references to real life people and it signifies Albions sons and the jury / Urizenic entities. They are all in despair, destroying furnaces, chaos all around. Blake speaks of wishiung to open mans imotral eye as he writes of those mythological stories. They revolve into the furnances southward, are sent northward, divided into female and male forms of twelve English families whatever that may mean. Blake holds the female and male furnace (Loom and Beryll) to his heart and cries. Daughters of Albion join into Tizrah, on Cambel and others. Then united into Rahab, after whom the emanations of 12 sols of Albion are introd. (Gwinverra, etc.)

Jerusalem is held within this chaos. Vala is howling in the east, redounding from Beulahs daughters hands. There is a cloud of smoke of her anguish, going out the furnaces, starry wheels, past the void. The daughters hold the immortal form but cant soothe it, so their fears fall into benython, which is also this space with Jesuses body within it. Cambel - Hyle emanation, Gwendolyn - Hand. Jerusalem and Vala follow thru the mountains toward the smoke, get into the chaotic void, lamenting with her shadow for her and albions kids along the starry wheels. Los hears her.

From his back, pain and anguish (Urthona) divides from him, wailing, stand sover his body and berates him to trying to save his fake friend. Los says, No Spectre, I will not go into wrath, let us embrace Albion who doesnt wish to be saved.
Spectre also speaks of Albions Spectres forming according to his rage. and the number eight is there. huuh. The Triple Accuser is loose in england, and makes reason, nature and society serve to confirm the fallen condition of Albion. Shit's fucked basically. Vala meanwhile incircfles around the furnaces where Luvah was closed. She heard his howlings joyfully, and forgot that he was her Luvah. Point is, Pity over Wrath in here.

Los threatens his spectre with Hell as he sees it fall into a satanic self righteous path, and the spectre submits. Hand is used as proof of that satanic effect. The Spectre who is Urthona-Blake, is sat on the stone of london which is set to be the place to rebuild Golgonooza. Also they labor like crazy at his furnaces to create a new selfhood out of this Spectre, until the Spaces of Erin are created, which are a space that shields from chaos and all things not taking into the saving vision. Los works on his anvil with the crysolite, the topaz, the jacinth, & every precious stone.
Plate 11-15
Los is creating systems and individuals out of clay and ore. A system that makes so if a aspectre tries to devour a being of experiental world, it will feel pain. ERin and Daughters of Beulah come out of the furnaces, then his sons and daughters come in perfect form, and erins space is stretched up to the skies. Los cries, his kids embrace him, grieving of when will they meet again, then think of what to do for jerusalem and to save emanations/kids of albion from malice. Regan cruel and Scofield(new Adam of war) in iron armour are mentioned,, "like a mandrake in the earth before Reubens(oldest sons of Israel) gate"
association w/ mandrake based on Genesis 30:14, symbol of vegetated natural man. Scofield is a distortion of the already fallen natural, a threat to the foundations of spiritual freedom.

He shoots beneath Jerusalems walls, Vala animated by the tears of her.

The kids ask - why will you give her a body whose life is but a shade? But animated and vegetated, she is a devouring worm. What shall we do for you, Jerusalem?

Vala replaces Jerusalem as an emanation of Albion. Liberty of all limitation moves over to Valas bondage. Los laments that Albion is dead for his emanation divided from him fully yet he himself is alive. He laments abt his spectres accusation being true, as he feels Enitharmon dividing from himself, too. How to live without her? Then he thninks back to god, the systems, the furnaces. The laborers are also lamented,the starry wheels of albions sons, spaces for Jerusalem , Los is terrified of them, they - of erins sapces. the spaces built golgonooza "terrible eternal labor". Los looks up at the fruits of that labor, goes on and on about it. Lambeth is mentioned here, told to prepare the furniture in their pitying looms.

Meanwhile, Jerusalem wanders among the Satanic wheels without Loses gate. Golgonooza stretches everywhere towards eden, world of generation, beulah, ilro, starry wheels of albions sons, etc. The gates are mentioned - north, 4 sculpted bulls of iron gate toward generation, iron ones towards ulro, clay and baked toward furnaces, and gold-silver-brass-iron ones toward beulah.

The south golden gate has 4 lions, toward generation look iron ones, ulro - clay baked, eden - gold, silver, brass, iron. Western gate fourfold is closed, having four cherublike guards. Winged with 8 wings (7 eyes of god?..) Towards generation - iron, beulah - stone, ulro - clay, eden - metals, closed up until the last day "when the graves shall yueld their dead" as in judegement day. The eastern gate is terrible, taking forms of the wheels of albions sons as cogs. eden - ice, frozen in seven folds of forms of death, beulah - stone, 7 diseases of earth, ulro - warms, seven enormities. Generation - 7 generative forms. Everything in this damn place is fourfold, but the third gate in every one is closed with a threefold curtain of ivory, fine linen, and ermine.

There are more mythological peoples being assigned to the gates - 64k genii at eastern, gnomes at northern, nymphs at western, fairies at southern, around golgonooza lies the land of death, of pain and misery, in all 27 heavens from adam to luther, from mundane shell, reaching to vegetative earth. Then, the veg universe opens like a flower from earths center, in which is eternity. expands in stars to the mundane shelll, meets enternity, the voids between the satanic wheel stars. then there are mentions of the before mentioned places - cave, rock, tree, lake of udan adan, trees of malice, revenge, cities of salamandrine men, etc. Los walks throughout the walls night and day, views golgonoozaq, mills, work houses of og and anak, amalekite, canaanite, moabite, egyptian, all that has existed in the place of 6k years, everything pretty much, Also: But whatever is visible to the Generated Man, Is a Creation of mercy & love, from the Satanic Void. Shadowy to those who dwell not in them, but to those who enter them they seem the only substances, for every thing exists not one sigh nor smile nor tear.

quick explanation: Two sets of whels whirling counter to one another. Their presence in the Eastern Gate of Luvah associates them with the Savior, but Death exists because the way to Eden is blocked, and disease because the Beulah of love and fulfillment is stonified, and only Christ-as-Luvah can end death and disease. But the way to the fallen states through Luvah is not blocked; there we find the seven enormities of religion-hid-in-war, and the ambiguous forms of Generation.

Los sees the cherub at the tree of life, the serpent, orc in the north, dragonn urizen, tharmas the vegetated tongue, beulah, a forest of afliction growing in the sea of sorrows, four females - ahania, enion, vala, enitharmon, from them all the daughters of albion - ahania, enion, vala are the evanescent shades. Blake prays to have the strength to wake Albion as they are both bound by the mental chains of delusions of materiality by Bacon and Newton - btw he also calls himself a fourfold prophet. He turns towards the schools of Europe and sees the loom of Locke whose Woof rages, washed by the water wheels of Newton which are not as harmonizing or peaceful as those of Eden.

Albion is then seen seating himself on his rock of the first winter. Among the furnaces of Los in the valley of the son of hinnomThe spectre is made to labor until the children of Jerusalem become children of Los so he can protect them from Albions dead spectres. also the sons of albion take two contraries, naming them good and evil, from these they make an abstract. Los is having a breakdown and beating shit up. Every concept on earth has an authoritarian breakdown at Urthona, telling them to obey or else. Urhthona snaps back at being made to be misery, to be knowing life yet living not. They ask how can they not desepair. Los cries - where is my emanation(inspiration?) Los wiped off his tears, gave no comfort, and continued on the labor until his sons and daughters came from the furnaces. from commentary it seems to be that los is JEALOUS of his emanation and well, clearly suffers from possessive love, which Urthona calls him out on.

Losses spectre divides, and he compels it to labor and follow the Daughters of Albion while the houndis following the scent of a being that inhabits the forest, "to drive them from his own". He wants to make a way for his kids to come from the Furnaces, but against Albions Sons his fury bends and he can't approach the daughters openly lest he get seduced into complete undoing of his identity/strength.

He sends his mask of his spectre around the four points of heaven, the death flees at the sight, hide in druid temples, "Subdued by the Spectre of the Living & terrified by undisguisd desire".Los says, though his spectre is divided he is a living man and compels his spectre to obey - he griefs over Enitharmon and says he will restore the children

For the first few episodes I already saw a type of tension between Kouji and Daisuke, also the relationship with Hikarus character was shaky at first so to me personally it felt like misogyny got in the way of Daisuke having chemistry with anyone except for Kouji. However that got fixed later on, and having finished the series I wonder if thats just a a 70s thing - there were clear implications of romantic feelings from one character to another, but they weren't brought up as a plot point or a conflict much. Head injury and sickfics

I thought of a sick fic .. People get over head injuries way too quickly in media. That shit can stay with u for years. So, my idea was caregiver Kouji and Daisuke. Having arguments because what if Kouji does the usual of doing what a 16 does - be a bit stubborn or try to help in ways that do the opposite? giving him huge pain flareups from stress?!
>Like in Golden Kamuy there was at least something with Sugimoto. But, I feel like it was played as a plot gear more than just "hey, this guy has a injury that will affect him for years." But, I was in a bit of a sick state when reading GK so i could be misremembering

BTW - it is now a WIP.

War trauma within the series - written a few eps in, still.

1. Daisuke from what WE know is the last lone survivor of his planet being wiped out. He has crazy survivors guilt, and we see the way this war changed him in multiple ways. First the way he feels guilt for the aliens invading earth just due to his existence - his adoptive father reassuring him that whether he were here or not, eventually they would still attack
The way he is - as we know now - the last of his kind, there is nobody waiting for him at home. I think kind of, that's why he gets so pissed off when Kouji is reckless and puts his life on the line, even though he kind of acts differently later but, headcanon lens on - Kouji has multiples of people waiting for him at home. People who need him, and as of now he is one of the two heros that can help earth. If Daisuke dies, he wants Kouji to stay

2. Mineo and Iara.. The way their flashbacks are shown, the way they literally grow sick and feverish and trembling when the safety of their planet and loved ones is held above their head, I REALLY LOVE the way this show treats those themes and that we are shown what happens when a victim gets put in an aggressor state. Mineo attempted to raise their blade over Daisuke so many times but never could - guilt ate them up, but so did the fear of their planet being wiped out. Knowing that they will never see the promise, because in order for the false promise of their planet being kept safe to be actually realized, they need to DIE, and yet still wanting to go through with it augh. You put a survivor in a literal suicide mission, having them die for nothing.
I'm done for, bro. The way Iara sacrificed himself too, the way he avoided anyone being hurt, trying to skirt around the orders so that he could both follow them and not harm humans, only to end up brainwashed in the end. I'm done for. so done for. precious lives treated like chess pieces, the way he was promised his mothers safety, only to find out she was long dead. and what for? just to make him suffer before brainwashing him. im done for

Shortly - Daisuke shows off many healthy masculinet traits.. If we forget how many times he and Kouji beat each other in the beginning

With Daisuke, I really like that he actually cares about people around him and is not shy about showing affection, he cries easily and wears his emotions on his sleeve, even tho it may take time for him to open up to someone about his Big Secret TM. he play guitar he love horse he care about humanity and earth LOL. He is also so fast to apologize when he knows he is wrong - similar to Kouji.

How curious, well the bird episode kind of shows him being more caring towards his wounds and body - after he sees Gauss die and watches the wounded bird heal - I SEE THE SYMBOLISM I SEE IT. But, but it does feel like he has some sort of complex maybe either due to feeling a sense of duty or some kinda complex that I don't know the word for

I think, this is the part I like when episodes go down the road I know they will - as in, be it child soldiers, or people in positions where they have to fight under Vegas rule, even if they don't wanna - and they die anyway
Nobody is left un-grieved. there are so many scenes like this with pretty much memorials/graves/flowers at the site where the hostages/child soldiers/Vegas' underlings who defied him died. No matter how much you harm Daisuke he will always grieve for your death

Zuril shedding tears, becoming hysterical about his sons self sacrifice, saying he loves him more than his life itself - that was a lot, and it turned into my top fave episodes instantly. I feel like Zurils character could use this type of work in Grendizer U but it didn't happen. Similar to the general trope of Nadia or Guass or or or...

Daisukes immediate acceptance of his low life span had me going ow and ouch.

Kouji immediately threatening suicide to stop Daisuke from attempting his suicide mission was both funny as a concept and so, so reflective of their bond

Soo. Grendizer has a huge bulge. That craziness aside, I like that there isnt toxic masculinity here either, Daisuke openly says that he loves his new friends and so on.

Daisuke is really afraid of himself and the overclocking he experiences from excessive stress that causes Grendizer to go crazy and kill at random - this I take as mental illness / ptsd meta idk. Daisuke is also very suicidal here and thinks his leaving will solve Vega attacking earth when it wont. In UFO, Dr Umon calmed him down, but idk if Koujis talk to him about it had the same effect. However, at the end, the power of friendship and mutual support helped him through it all which is sweet. At first, I didn't like this suicidal direction but then I thought, this is a trauma response and it makes sense that he is still in a run mode. It hasn't been that long.

They made some white haired twink Kasado as if Zuril wasn't already here, flawed, and sexy

"Let me live and atone for my sins" when talking with Naida was a LOT. It takes so much mentally to get to that space and I am so happy for him. Daisuke, in general, looks very young here and is very vulnerable, so seeing him smile like that, just, ugh.

Also, I wish Goro and Danbei were here. Why is Goro a horse? :( Why is Dr Umon.. Like that? At least, I found his infodump-y alien obsessed nature a bit sweet. Now to think of it, it's like a mix of Danbei and Umon.

I loved the emotional moment Kouji had with Mazinger when the robot broke down - grandpa made it which makes the emotional tie stronger, but in general, that was very sweet and sad. This really is our Mecha Anime...

Kasado had an interesting direction of being led by Hikaru into being on par, if not besting Daisuke and getting to pilot Grendizer, on top of helping out his enemies whenever Vega guys attacked, but then it just fell flat. Because not only did he decide to take over Grendizer but he got killed for being evil beyond saving. I feel like we missed out on an "I DON'T CARE! I'm helping cuz I want to best Daisuke! I don't like you guys at all!" or, at least, a Blue Exorcist Shima type character moment.

I liked the bit about Koujis dad distrusting Daisuke after what happened - it made sense, it was realistic, and it made me wanna pinch him.

Tironas marriage with Daisuke, the emotions he went through when he saw her mark forever etched on his hand to me felt like a depiction of sexual assault, but I'm not quite sure that was the intent.

When overclocked, Daisuke felt like the antichrist. Very scary. And the amount of trust Kouji had in him to try to save him instead of killing him like promised.

Also: Sayaka didn't need to exist. I do not think its that hard to have a brown woman who is that integral to the team not just in the og but in the general lore of this adaptation... Actually be integral and fight alongside them. We didn't need Hiikaru to be replaced by some purple haired girl bro

In a nutshell: New Daisuke feels boyish while og Daisuke is mature and is like an older brother to everyone
I think seeing him grow up and be in the sense of like...Hey, I'm not alone I have friends we can go fight I am sometimes weak but I have them to lean onto is very sweet. Idk. Smile more little Daisuke, sorry I'm getting emotional

We didn't get to see why exactly Hayato was all red eyes and evil and smirking and nailing at Ryomas face but one interpretation that came to my mind was ..Like.. At that point, was he just... Ogata-ing his way through life? As in, because he joined Saotome, because he took part in his experiments whether tricked into or forced into it, to him that would eventually be realized as a terrible mistake and an Evil Action. So since he did an Evil Action, he is set to have an Evil Life and never step foot outside of that path because that's the one predestined to him and he couldn't be wrong about this at all. I know Ogatas POV is a bit different but I can't like. Get the words from my head to write a concise comparison between the two.

Basically, Hayatos renderition would be I cut at my friends skin not because I want to but because that is the type of life I chose to live.

1.5 Waiting for more lore in this man. Because first, the issue with being overproctective of kids, then the threat of suicide, then the way he looks at Vash and Milly, comparing himself to them and weakly disliking them.. For their naivety or rush to help people selflessly maybe? Something like that.
2. Legato is very provocative with his violence and I can't wait for more of him
3. I liked the direction of showing Vashs trigger/flashbacks. Then using that same red once more, reawakening his fear of people getting close lest they get hurt because of him - Danteeeeee. Again was Dante's quirk with that inspired by this?
4. Also the amount of hesitation and anger with himself for being unable to kill the guy. That was chefs kiss. Also something in this scene made me wonder if Vash is passively suicidal, like in that dream where he were asking why do people keep on living.

- These quotes kind of scared me: "is it right to live if it takes so much sacrifice" and "do you think I will be eaten some day"

- Knives has a really huge sense of justice but in the autism symptoms way. Also I wonder if Vash gets frightened or threatened when he hears that same type of "to save the butterfly you gotta kill the spider" philosophy from Wolfwood

- What in the Johan Liebert is happening to Knives 😭 is his motivation similar to Johan trying to shield Nina or is it more leaning onto a hatred for humanity?

- The angry face when adult Vash aimed at him and he went "Are you REALLY aiming at me again!?" ... there is something in there

- when I think Wolfwood says something about giving up everything else, Vash thinks of Ren..So Rem is his "everything else"? I'm fine guys. And by the way this whole ship and its dynamics loosely reminded me of mouthwashing

- The sound effects of the scissors cutting away at his hair but also the memories that the little girl+granny had with him showing up on cue...ough that hurt

- the sort of taunting or "I am you you are me" the antagonist has going on, trying to show themselves as a reflection of Vash when they are not very similar, but it still gets to him cuz he has a big heart and survivors guilt. Sighs

- wonder if knives is gonna redeem himself btw

- Zazie had to mature way too early and I'm sad that he died so early. It feels like there was more potential but Wolfwood just up and killed him, which surprises me even from a man like himself. That was a snotlet of an enemy but I guess being a SPY and all STRESSED him out to the point of where he started making fatal mistakes like an overworked nurse

- Wolfwoods death and inner monologue reminds me of Ogata. That one light bulb moment where you realize that maybe, just maybe, the path you thought were right, the decisions you declared correct were anything but that. In difference to Ogata though, I don't think I saw a prolonged sense of panic even though he did grieve having to die so early? At the end, there was more like a sad acceptance
- Also.. Knives has light similarities to Go in the "i need to protect this person because they dont have individuality in my eyes" sense. Also... Wolfwood seems a bit similar to geralt in the child abuse upbringing...

Does Utsuro is BPD?

I hope nobody needs the disclaimer that this is babys first character essay so don't stone it please

Hello and welcome to me rambling the fuck out about my headcanon.. Spoilers for majority of chapters 16-21 below!

DISCLAIMER:
1. PEOPLE WITH BPD I HIGH FIVE YOU. BPD=/= asshole person disorder. BPD=/= catchall for abusive people. BPD = trauma response that can lead into destructive traits that can be related to the personality type. MOVING ON!!!!
2. I am not very aware about Japanese mythology or references the author could have used so forgive me for being stupid in any of this
When reading the manga, its very easy to read Utsuro as a mentally unstable girl. She is obsessive and impulsive to those around them, her 'puppy love' crushes leading to jealous rages, breakdowns and physical violence. She also seems to fall in love with people on a whim.
"All I did was give her my beat-up plastic umbrella on a rainy day", Mako commented to Alma once while describing her. The smallest sign of care was all Utsuro needed to get attached to someone but, once met with perceived abandonment, her view of Mako completely changed. And even as he apologized and promised to do better for her, It was too late.
While in an unstable state, she found an anchor through the witness of this ‘fight’ between her and her boyfriend, Alma. He disagreed with her boyfriend in the midst of trying to de-escalate and offered her a napkin to dry her tears. In her perspective, Alma understands. He is better than Mako, who stares at other girls and possibly has an option two on the side(again, in her PoV)
So now Alma must be the one.
Right?
1. Utsuro fits the diagnostic criteria, as shown by her behaviors
As per the DSM-5, BPD is characterized by "a pervasive pattern of instability of interpersonal relationships, self-image and affects, and marked impulsivity beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) or the following:"

Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment (Note: Do not include suicidal or self-mutilating behaviour covered in Criterion 5)
A pattern of unstable and intense interpersonal relationships characterised by alternating between extremes of idealisation and devaluation
Identity disturbance: markedly and persistently unstable self-image or sense of self
Impulsivity in at least two areas that are potentially self-damaging (e.g. spending, sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating) (Note: Do not include suicidal or self-mutilating behaviour covered in Criterion 5)
Recurrent suicidal behaviour, gestures, or threats, or self-mutilating behaviour
Affective instability due to a marked reactivity of mood (e.g. intense episodic dysphoria, irritability or anxiety usually lasting a few hours and only rarely more than a few days)
Chronic feelings of emptiness
Inappropriate, intense anger or difficulty controlling anger (e.g. frequent displays of temper, constant anger, recurrent physical fights)
Transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociative symptoms

In my opinion, Utsuro at the very least fits 6 traits out of these 9. Namely fear of abandonment, unstable/changing relationships, stress-related paranoia, recurrent self mutilating/suicidal behavior, intense anger issues, and chronic feelings of emptiness.
She fears being left alone and goes on great lengths to avoid it, be it love bombing, self harm, control/interrogation or physical violence. She moves from one relationship to another easily, moving on as if the previous partner did not even exist. Utsuro also shows a great deal of paranoia and inability to control her emotions in relationships, as seen by her aggression towards Mako. Additionally, Utsuro’s traumatic past with suicide attempts, and current self harm struggles shows that she has been starved of a healthy life, causing her to chase after happiness and feels less than.
When it comes to identity disturbance, impulsivity, and affective instability due to reactive moods, I either can not pin point those traits directly or it would be me walking into a more fanon-than-headcanon territory: which, unstable self identity could be tied with her tying her identity to being reassured by a second party...but again, fanon!!
On top of that, her relationships also mirror the concept of a favorite-person attachment..
2. Utsuro experiences FP attachment
What is a favorite person?
A favorite person in someone a person with BPD has an attachment to - it is not a healthy attachment and is based on idealization. The reason for such an attachment existing is low self esteem. It creates a fantasy bond between the pwBPD(person with BPD) and FP, instead of a real one.
In short, the person being loved is a fantasy. In some cases, a person w/BPD can navigate their feelings without putting the relationship at risk. In other cases, the real person behind the icon might not be seen or heard by the one attached to them. This can lead to a cycle of idealization, destructive behavior and splitting. All of this can, of course, ruin the relationship.

"If I can't have you, then no one can" type deal

Coming back to the plot as is, Utsuro moves from one person to another - that being Alma. She obsesses over him and glues herself to him, not stopping until he gives in. She immediately becomes Jealous of Tao, Yaya, and later Kanata, questioning their relation to Alma. She flat out states being in love with him while not even knowing basic facts about him, even his name - which, after learning it, she believes it to be fate that they have met. This is the idealization stage
Utsuro harasses Alma and apologizes via self-harming, which is the only way she has learned to get people's attention. This, in itself, is a form of manipulating people into staying. This, all in all, is a stage of destructiveness - be it aimed at the self or others.

Despite finding the date fun, Alma still wants to just stay friends - Utsuro only offers a death glare in response. Alma is not meeting her needs anymore. Alma does not love her anymore - and she does not want Yomi to have Alma, so the ~natural~ fix to that is to kill him, to keep him for herself. This, finally, is the splitting territory.

This, I believe, shows how Utsuro 'breaks up' with her partners and her logics behind it.
3. On breakups
There is probably no need to stress this, but Utsu is different from a human girl who might be going through struggles of BPD - turning into a half-maga trapped her in an unhealthy cycle, reinforced and supported by Yomi - which I will also touch on later.
It is seen that there are two ways she ends a relationship, both in death. Try to escape her - dead. Do the opposite - dead again. One would think that she would have a less violent reaction to getting what she wants. Once her favorite people finally meet her needs, such as Mako, however, she begins to feast on them. Why is that?
Firstly, if we take it literally, it is because of her hunger - she needs human blood. But why her partners? Why not someone else, instead of the person she cares about? Is it because of splitting? Following her natural reason of hunger for human blood, is it a reference to the praying mantis biting off the head of her male partner once satisfied? Is it her way of setting in stone that once dead, her partner will forever stay hers, or is it..boredom?
PRAYING MANTIS😱😱??

In a way Utsu functions as a praying mantis - the moment she is satisfied, she feeds on her partners. The hunger alongside her need for closure mix with each other - she needs the person to be all over her in under a week, and once they finally comply she rips their heads off - or, as seen in manga, just kills them.
ON BOREDOM

Does love without obstacles bore her?
Utsu does not see love as an easy thing - she finds it comforting and interesting to fight through it. Perhaps, once her partners become truly compliant, she becomes bored of the lack of obstacles - all in all, from what we have seen in her relationship, Utsu hurts for love. And if she doesn't, then its boring, or invalid, or or or... And of course, she is more likely to fall into her hunger when bored.
But if her partner does not bore her, When is it that she gives up? When met with multiple disagreements, Alma fights her. And yet, at the last interaction she has with Alma in chapter 20, she begs him to love her.
She practically begs him to not be a mirror of her past abusers as they fight, she screams that she loves him and wants to be loved back. and then, she gets the wakeup call.
FT. WAKEUP CALL

In her desperate attempts to get someone to finally look at her and validate her, Utsuru fell into a nasty habit of only caring about herself and nobody else. For many people, they fall into this trap, most of the times not even realizing it - in many cases, it is not malicious in nature, just a fucked trauma response.
When dealing with untreated mental illness, be it by medical means or solo, people with mental illnesses, personality disorders included, can fall into destructive behaviors. This moment is a wake-up call - it highlights the idea that people with untreated BPD may not fully recognize the extent of their destructive patterns, or if they do, they might not even want to face them out of avoidance, fear, shame, etc.. This confrontation, however, is crucial for growth. The same goes for Utsuro and her possible development in future chapters.
Yomi and Alma are the people we see Utsu interact with most, one showering her with promises of happiness and family, yet not truly caring for her, the other - the complete opposite. He is a bit of an ass to her for multiple reasons, but does care for her wellbeing.
However, due to her history, Utsu can not understand that she is being manipulated and encouraged into retraumatizing herself while she slowly turns from a person looking for love into an obsessive abuser that claws onto people around them.
Also, this little rant has been drafted a month ago, so of course I am SO EXCITED to actually see it put into words - and visuals - in chapter 21!

Just by the look in her eyes you can tell that she is surprised to be confronted with the elephant in the room, and maybe, this directness from Alma could break her out of avoiding to even think about it.... PLEEASE?
4. How to break the cycle?
Ok so, Utsuro fits the description of BPD. She is a good example of what happens when vulnerable people are taken advantage of and their untreated mental wounds causing them to become destructive. What does this say about her future, though?
Personality disorders can not go away, they are not something you manage to turn off, either, but many learn to live with them. For people with BPD, this treatment consists of talk therapy that can lead people to learn self-management skills, and medicine - there isn't a specific one licensed to treat BPD, but there are many that can help deal with related conditions of depression and anxiety disorder, which can go hand in hand with BPD. And of course, community, and stable relationships.
For FPs, communication and intention to stay within stable perception of the self and others is important. For a person w/BPD, it is important to have a partner/friend that understands the struggles that come with it and is willing to work through things such as perceived rejection. This leads into the person w/BPD being able to see things through a realistic lens and internalize this PoV.
Utsuro, however, had (almost) none of those things offered to her, or felt like they were out of reach. We can't know if she reached out for psychiatric help, but it can be assumed that the stigma she met from those around her was enough to reject the idea. What she has, however, is a potential friend ready to help her - Alma. She has a chance to break free of Yomis grasp and start anew. Whether or not she takes the offer is for us to see in future chapters.
All in all, I kind of want to add another thing - Utsu has her flaws, fatal ones even, but she is not heartless. She is a traumatized girl, revived, put into the state of a forever blood-thirsty maga, and tasked with killing a young boy - none of those are things she asked for or ever dreamed of, and she still does not realize the hell she was put into.
Utsuro’s story is a stark reminder of how untreated trauma and mental health issues can lead to tragic consequences, not just for the individual but for those around them. Her future development may hinge on whether she can break the cycle of obsession and violence or whether she remains trapped in her destructive patterns.
